Is it your PCP or your surgeon? If it is not your surgeon I would continue with what your surgeon suggested. I'm allowed some fruits and veggies with my program, but no mashed potatoes.

I think i'm getting rid of my PCP she is impossible not flexable at all and she and my surgeon don't agree on the post -op diet anyway. she had surgery 5 yrs ago so she base most of her post-op diet on her experiance ( I'm totalling guessing here I just see that she dose things a bit differently than most.. thanks anyway for your help laura

Every Doc seems different. I can have fruit if it is peel free and blended. I did vary a little and ate 1/4 bananna and just chewed reall good. No problems. It sounds like you may be on a really low carb, high protein diet?

Hi Laura: I am allowed fruit but in limited quantities. I do not like the feeling after I have them. I think the spike in carbs makes me feel tired and lethargic. So I will not have fruit until dinner. You should follow what ever your surgeon suggests. They are the EXPERTS.

Don't feel bad, I am in the same boat. I am dying to have fruits and veggies, especially a salad. Oh how I am dying to eat a nice salad. But that is the last thing I can eat but I know my buddy J. who had surgery the same day as me, now can pretty much what she wants....(Yes, J. I am jealous of you...LOL) But I cannot. Our surgeons/nutritionist have a schedule for a reason. We may not understand it but I must follow his rules. It bites. I do understand where you are coming from but it is for our own health. ((((HUGS)))))I understand how you feel cuz I am in the same boat.... Erin

I know every Dr is different, but I personaly go by what the surgeon and his dietician say as far as eating goes. At 2 week I was allowed applesauce and pureed canned fruit (lite only), although I haven't tried any fruit yet! Carmen

Our diet says non fibrous fruits that are mashed are OK, even beneficial. I like to mash a piece of ripe banana and mix it with sugar-free chocolate pudding.
