water amounts
i can see from posts that our programs/doctors/nutritionists sometimes give us different ways to handle things.
for example, i was told to have 32 oz fluids and that remained the goal at my one month check-up, also. a big difference from 64.
i wonder if it's because we're eating so little, a lot of fluid doesn't allow the pouch to absorb? i have no idea, just a guess.
anyone else told 32 oz, not 64?

Hi Susan
That seems like a very low amount of fluids to be taking in. But every doctor is different. The more fluids you take in the better because it is very important to stay hydrated. After surgery we all are prone to dehydrate at least that is my understanding of it.
Since I was pre-op I had a tendency to dehydrate anyways so I keep those fluids pumping as long as my eyes are open....LOL.
What is the reasoning your doc said for the 32 ozs? Just curious. Sorry if it isn't the answer you were looking for.

Susan,
Your are right, all doctors are different. My doctor has me drinking 80 oz a day.
My understanding is the water is so you don't get dehydrated. A lady that I work with wasn't drinking all of her water and she got dehydrated and ended up in the hospital with a IV until she was hydrated. So it is very important to get in all of your water.
I know at first it is very hard to get in all of the water, maybe that is why you are only required 32 oz, he might increase it when you go back for your next vist.
