Where are YOU at????
Hey fellow losers...how goes it? I am doing pretty good. I am 3 weeks and 1 day post-op and I am having very little problems. I have become lactose intollarant but other than that I can eat just about anything I have tried so far. I am having issues with my protein drinks. I just can't STAND the taste or smell of them. They even get close to my face and I am doing the gag effect! LOL I am down 29 whopping pounds as of yesterday though and feeling awesome physicaly! I am walking a mile a day on my treadmill and plan on increasing soon. How are all of you doing? Talk to you guys later!
I am 6 weeks post-op tomorrow and have lost 32 ponds. I finally feel back to normal. My stamina is much better than it was a few weeks ago. I go to the gym every other day and do the eliptical and bike for 1/2 and hour. I also hate protein drinks, but am managing to get them down. I am still soooo happy I had this surgery. It really is such a life-saving tool!
My goal is to have dropped 50 pounds by christmas! We'll see!!!!!
Take Care Everyone!

Hello Codie,
I am in VA... cold and rainy here today... lots of leaves falling. Perfect fall day! I am almost 5 weeks post op... and have lost nearly 24 pounds. I have 24 more to go to hit my first personal goal...to be under 200!!! Congrats on your loss!! Keep up the good work. I walk 2 + miles 3-4 times a week. I am doing well with protein... I use Myoplex original ready to drink... comes in chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. I mix 4-6 ounces of shake with 2-4 ounces of skim milk and add a pak of splenda...tastes like Nestle QUick. I can't do the powders either... I can't past the smell either. I just received a package in the mail... with cookies... only 5-7 grams of sugar... and up to 27 (yes twenty seven) grams of protein in a 1.5 ounce cookie. They say if you heat them slightly in the microwave they are even better. I got chocolate chip, zesty lemon, and peanut butter! I am trying to get in about 75 grams of protein a day and it has been tuff but I am finding more things to supplement with... like nuts! Anyway, thats me in a nut shell so to speak... Hope everything is a.o.k. in Idaho...
hey there i am in NC and i cant believe it didnt rain today... bc it always rains here...lol i am 5.5 wks post op and i have lost 51 lbs.... not too shabby i can eat anything but steak and raw veggies.... and i have been workin out everyday... Dr is hopin for another 50 lbs gone by dec 6th.... so i have 49 lbs left to lose by then...
I wish I could say I am doing well. I have lost 18lbs. in 3 weeks and 4 days, but I am so nauseated and I am having these awful headaches. Last night, I woke up with the worst pains. I am starting to think something is wrong. If I can just get through the day without being nauseous, that would be awesome
Hey everyone...I am in CT and had my surgery on the 28th of Sept. On my first post op visit, I had lost 23 lbs. Don't think I have lost much, if anything, since then...at least not on my scale. I don't know if it is normal to stall this early out, but I am trying not to stress it too much yet. I have another post op appointment on Friday and was hoping for at least 12 more pounds by then. At this point, I will be happy with 5! I haven't really started exercising, but maybe when I start it will kick things up a bit!
I'm 4 weeks out on Thursday and I am currently down 45 lbs (this is including a 2 week liquid protein shake pre-op with which I lost 22 lbs). I'm feeling great. The only problem I'm having is that I'm not 'regular' anymore. I used to be like clockwork every day. I have gone 2 days in a row without 'going'. It has me worried a bit, I see my dietician, who I love, tomorrow. I'll ask her about it.
My big goal is to be down 75 by Jan 1, 2004.

Hey Codie,
I totally hear you on the protein drinks. I have started using Carnation instant breakfast, the low carb no sugar ones. I know its not ideal but I just wasnt getting in my protein. I will be four weeks out tomorrow!! So exciting. I am down about 30lbs. Not to bad at all. I cant wait to be cleared for normal exercise!
With love,
Em
Hello Codie and fellow September babies!
Where I'm at geographically... beautiful RAINY Southern California... (we are having our first measurable rain in over 190 days! YES!)
Where I'm at in my WLS journey... I'm almost 7 weeks out from surgery, I've lost about 32 lbs I'm tolerating pretty much all foods I've tried, of course I'm not having sugar and hardly any bread or pasta or taters. I had some milk yesterday and it did seem to mess with my tummy a bit, so maybe i've developed some lactose intolerance as well. I am exercising some (walking), but not as much as I'd like. I checked out a gym last night, will prob. be joining on friday (so so so scary for me). I track my nutrition on fitday and get between 50-80 grams of protein a day. Average of about 60 which my dr is happy with. I eat about 850 calories a day, some days more some less. I hardly drink protein shakes anymore because I am getting enough protein thru food now. I just started using those neosporin scar minimizing strips on my scar (i had open rny) The box has a 12 wk supply and cost about $35. I'm taking my vitamins, and sublingual b12, and calcium citrate and occasionally zinc to prevent hair loss (theoretically). I'm definitely seeing a difference in my body, it's great! So that's where I'm at at this point! I hope you all continue with your success and feel better each day!
