I'm Baaaack......
Hi everyone!! I missed you!! I want to say Congrats to all the post oppers here and Good Luck for those whose surgeries are upcoming. While I was out I was thinking about you all here.
I am apx 6 weeks out and I have lost a total of 41 lbs. But I am very concerned about getting all of my protein in. But when they did my lab work everything was normal so I guess I must be doing something right.
How has everyone been? I am going to try to back track and catch up on some posts. I feel like I am back home again.
Erin
Welcome Back Erin
I had my surgery on 9-27 and I have went from 266 to 235
As far as the protein goes my dietician told me that as long as I am on pureed and soft solids I am getting alot of food with portein in it and she calculated it up and just with the food I am getting in almost all of my protein sometimes more than enough. Meat and cottage cheese are excellent sorces of protein.
Good luck and again welcome back
Peggy
Hey Welcome home!!! Glad everything went well and congrats on that whopping 41 pounds... that is great!!! Protein is an everyday battle for me and I have to be aggressive with that and getting my fluids in but it is getting easier. I am 5 weeks post op... and have lost almost 24. If we can do anything to help let us know...
Thanks for the welcome...I really did miss you all so much.
Cottage Cheese isn't a problem and even my meats. I tolerate steak, hamburg, turkey, chicken, turkey and ham. They taste great and I don't have a problem with it.
I do have to slow down when I eat. (I have been a fast eater since I first was able to eat with a fork...LOL....but seriously though)
I get plenty of fluids although I need to start up again with the protein shakes.
I am trying and I am doing my walks at lunch for an hour and I try to walk when I get home but it is getting so bloomin dark by the time I get home.
Thanks again. Its great to be back
