Hi All! I was just wondering if anyone else has this thing I have. When I eat normal food like soft food ,mashed taters, cottage cheese, applesauce and things of that nature, I can onlyeat about a 1/4 c. However when I mix up a can of cindensed soup, I can eat alot at once liek a whole cup. What gives. I am worried that I am going to stretch mypoor little pouch. I am 3 and 1/2 weeks post op and I have lot 21 lbs thus far so I am not complaining. I was just wondering if its the soup because its more liquid or what? I am always scared i can eat too much and I am a total spaz. Thanks Love AMybee

Hi thanks for the reply! I would have to say as far as cottage cheese goes I can only eat 2 oz but soup and liquidy things I can have more. Oh well the weights coming off and I am not eating THAT much especiallycompared to what I used to eat so I wont stress. Thanks! LOve Amybee

Amy, I bet your pouch is ok. I can eat 2.5 ounces of soft meats and cheeses, but I too can also have like a cup of tomato soup. Liquid goes right through the pouch, so I bet you are not stretching it. Just go slowly! -Katie

I measure everything!!! "Olivia" can only hold 2 ounces so that is what I give her. There are times that after I eat, I am still hungry but I tuff it out and it usually passes when I start my liqs 30 mins later. I go for my 1 month follow up with my Nutr. on thursday and I will ask about doing more.

As long as you are not experiencing any discomfort, you should be fine. If you start to get a belly ache or feel like you need to burp and can't, then you've had too much. Liquid (like soup) will pass through more quickly, so you will not feel full as soon. As long as you stop when you are no longer hungry, or start to get the full feeling than you will be fine. Carmen
