Anniversary Ideas????????
Hi Everyone
My husband and I have our 18th year wedding anniversary on the 18th of this month. Our golden wedding anniversary!! I had surgery a couple of weeks ago so I am still on the liquid diet for another 2 weeks. I wanted to do something fun/special for this anniversary and can't think of anything. We usually go out to Red Lobster and we still could. I don't want him or anyone to adjust their lives just because I had surgery. Do you have any ideas of something to do and/or fun or breath taking things to do? We are dairy farmers so we can't be gone for a long time, but I would surely appreciate any ideas/suggestions by anyone!!
Truely,
Sherri B
Go on to red lobster and eat some soup.and potato...not sure what your drs diet is...but try and stick to it...I had my surgery on the 15th and on the 25th 10 days later we had a fancy formal dinner...I went...brought home doggie bags for my husband for later...LOL..i had plenty of water and ice tea and then I did also have a few bites of twiced baked potato..what is about annoying are that other want to know why you are not eating and can they get you something else...and you not wanting to draw attention to yourself..so hard to do...
Hi Sherri!!
Do you have a favorite spot where you could go to watch the sunset? Why not pack a picnic lunch/dinner and take a drive and admire the fall scenery. That way you can pack whatever you can eat along with something specially made for your husband and you won't have to worry about the restaurant. The fall scenery here has been beautiful and the weather has been great for sunsets. It also seems like my husband and I have been having alot of talks about the future and what we hope for in the next year. You might also want to pack candles, blanket, radio, etc.
Just a thought!

YOU BEAT ME TO IT!.... *g*.. that is EXACTLY what I was going to suggest. The big thing IS the celebration of life and love... not eating - and you summed it up rather well.
Yesterday was my husbands b-day.... he has about 35lbs. to loose before hitting his goal (he has not had WLS...just trying to eat right and get in shape along with me)... so he is VERY serious about what goes into his mouth just like I am....
So my gift to him was "SPA Elizabeth".... Anything and everything that he would get done at a fancy spa ...I did for him at home. The man was in heaven. Sheer heaven. Nails, facial, hair treatment, body scrub, you name it...I did it... I even shaved him..... he was like warm putty in my hands.... and so appreciative as well. Then he got a warm oil rubdown and drifted off to sleep totally relaxed.
We have been rethinking alot of things in our lives and how centered around food they have always been and how society encourages that... well..no more in this househould. Food is fuel now.... doesn't mean that it has to taste yucky...but it's importance has slid down the scale of things...and LIFE IS MORE IMPORTANT NOW!
Thanks for putting up such a wonderful post!
Elizabeth~
Well first of all Happy Anniversary. Second of all your big day is also my daughter's 2nd birthday so that makes it even more special. I have an idea and it won't take long seeing on how you only have a few days left. You could always re-new your vows. If you hired a JP you could do it anywhere. You don't even have to invite anyone else but the 2 of you. You could go out maybe in the next few days to a party store and buy a few things to decorate your house or maybe even your yard, depending on the weather. If you have friends that would be willing to come you could always invite them. I know the 18th is on a Monday so you may have to do it after everyone gets out of work.
We will be celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary and my husband and I have decided to re-new ours on our 10th anniversary. I got married with a JP in a regular dress. I was never the right size (in my mind) to buy a gown. This time around we are getting me the gown and him a tux. We are also inviting everyone and making them think they are just going to an anniversary party. No one, not even my mom will know they are attending our second wedding.
I wish you the best and I hope you have a great day.
