Hi guys... I posted a few times prior to my surgery but I don't believe I have posted since... So here goes.... I had Lap RNY on Sept. 23rd.. started eating like a postop several weeks prior to my surgery. All in all I have netted a total weight loss preop AND postop of 49lbs. I have only lost 16lbs. since surgery though and this past week I have been on the "stall from hell".... Eating like I should, eating good foods/right quantities. Getting my fluids in, exercising EVERY day. Only netted me a 2lb. loss this week. ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH... I know that in the grand scheme of things I'm still down the 49lbs. but still.... ya'll know where this is coming... 2lbs. in ONE WEEK?? What is up with that?.... So what is going on with everyone else's weight loss? I imagine I'm not the only one that is dealing with issues like this right now? I also have found out that I do not have ANY issues with food items in the new tummy.... I am so not going anywhere near sugar. That is verboten to me and always will be ...but things like eggs, chicken... and the like. Not a problem. When I eat them I am only ingesting very minute amts. but I was still worried that it would cause problems as others have indicated when they tried it. I guess (at least for the time being) that my new tum is cast iron. It doesn't bother me at all. No queasy feeling, no sweating, no upset whatsoever. I eat anything I take in sooooooooooooo slowly and I chew it til it is finer than babyfood... Making sure that my teas are decaff. as well...... So feel free to chime in and let me know what YOU are doing and how your results are going..... Blessings... Elizabeth~

Hello, Liz I'm Elviria, this is my first time replying to anyone for as I just joined. I had my surgery September 27, 2004 and I can't seem to get in 64 ounces of nothing!! I'm still on liquids until Tuesday the 12th, and I can't wait to savor some scrambled eggs. How did you do on the protein powder and do you have any suggestions for getting this liquid down?

Well sounds like your on the right track. I am on a stall as well. I think mine is because I can't keep anything down. Once I talk to my surgeon I will find out what's up with that. Your body will kick back in, don't you worry. I love decaf tea. It is such a change from water all day long. I am glad your home and your doing great and your on the losing side. Best Of Luck To You! Hello, I had my surgery on the 27th of Sept. and things are doing ok for me I have lost 26lbs. I just wanted to say that My Dr. told me that if you get into a time when you see you are not losing try going back to liquids for about 2 days and that seems to get your system back in order of losing. Good going on losing so much and good luck on this crazy journey. Blessings to you Peggy

Hi Elizabeth! We share the same surgery date! I had an open RNY (distal) and am down 32 pounds including the 10 that I lost before surgery. I'm still on clear fluids since my doctor requires 4 weeks so that everything inside has time to heal. I had a bit of a stall too. I think our bodies get to a point where they think we are starving and they start holding on to everything. Give it a few days and I'm sure you'll start losing again, I did. Congratulations on your 49 pounds lost!! Julia
