2 Weeks post op.
Tomorrow will be my 2 weeks post op and I have lost 26 pounds.
I never dreamed of losing this much in such a short amount of time. I am on pureed and soft solids until Nov. 3 when I go back to see my Dr.
I am still having a problem I don't have the feeling that I need to eat. I'm just not hungry! Now that is a big change for me. But what do you do when you don't feel like eating? I can't even get my protein in properly and I am so scared that I am doing something wrong What do I do?

Peggy,
Set an alarm clock to help you remember to eat! I wish I had your problem. I get hungry about every 2.5 hours, but a little cheese or a protein drink solves the problem. Congrats on the weight loss so far!! Go Gurl!!
Also, i must mention that I am feeling like we are all so blessed today to have this opportunity! Yea!

4.5 weeks post-op (-28lbs.)
Rosey,
Hello I have not been doing to good on the protein drink but when I drink I got a big tub of protein powder from Walmart called "Carb Solutions" It taste nasty by itself so I found a smoothie Powder mix that I put in with it along with a small banana. If you decide to find a smoothie mix make sure you watch the sugar content. As far as pureed food I bought a small food chopper at Walmart for less then $10 I put just about anything in it my favorite I would say is tuna in spring water. You can do green beans or carrots. Sweet potatoes is really awsome, just not to much because alot of carbs. I hope I have helped you in some kind of way. Good luck on your journey. If you have any more questions Please don't be afraid to ask. If I can I will try and help.
May God Bless you
Peggy
Sounds like you are doing great. I am 3 weeks 2 days post op and I still don't get hungry. My wife Pam had the surgery4 days after I did, she lost 20 pounds. We have to remind each other to get the meals in. I have lost 39.5 pounds. I don't do protien drinks yet, Haven't dound one that I don't gag on. I mix protien in my cream of wheat or malto meal for breakfast, or mashed potatos also in clam chowder. I have heard whey protien is best.

Hi everyone!!
Peggy - Congratulations on all of your success! I had my surgery the same day as you. How long were you in the hospital? I had my surgery open, and had some trouble with pain management post operatively so was discharged 5 days later.
Questions to everyone:
I'm able to start eating "diced" foods this week, but it feels a little too soon for me so I'm going to go with "pureed" foods a a little bit.
I'm looking for pureed food suggestions...
Hope everyone is doing well!!
Stephanie
Hello Stephanie,
I did not have an open surgery just 5 little cuts. I went in on Monday and was out on Wed. As far as the pureed food my Dr. told me anything can be pureed. Tuna in spring water is great but a little dry so add a little chicken broth. I have started eating grilled chicken but it takes alot of chewing.
Good luck with your journey
Peggy
Peggy,
It sounds like you are doing wonderfully, which makes me wonder what is wrong with me...I'm 2 weeks post-op tomorrow and have only lost 15 pounds. It was 17 but somehow 2 came back. I know that 15 is great for two weeks, but I was thinking it would be more. Anyway, best of luck to you on your journey!!!
