I am really getting aggrivated with my tummy. Aside from the protein drink and my cream of wheat I am not able to keep anything else down. I try to grind and grind as much as I can but still everytime I take more then 2 bites of anything I get sick. I can't wait for it to go away. I know this is normal because I have to retrain my body how to eat again but still I want to complain. LOL No really though, anyone else going through this? Shannon

Hi Shannon, Is it possible that you have a stricture? I'm only 16 days out, but have been warned to watch for it. I've had several people tell me that it almost feels like the flu and to call my doctor asap if it happens. It could be that your not completely closed off but need to be stretched back out. Just a thought. I hope you get better soon! Julia

Hey Shannon, Sorry you're not feeling well! Are you sure it is normal? I think you should ask your doc to be safe. Although, I should say, there seems to be a huge range of "normal" for post-ops. You should be able to eat by five weeks out though, no? Keep us posted, I hope you are better soon. ~Sue

Shannon, I also think you should call your DR.--That's what they are there for! I had one day that I threw up a lot of mucus with little amonuts of food and my doc said I was constipated, and to take milk of mag./suppository/warm tea. After that I was eating fine again. Good Luck! Katie 4 weeks post-op -26.5 lbs.

Call your doc but I think maybe its just a finicky pouch. If you can get down cream of wheat without vomiting and your protein... I'm willing to bet its not a stricture. Are the other things your eating of the same consistency as the cream of wheat or thicker or bulkier foods? It might just be some outlet swelling... lets pray its simple ... feel better soon!

Shannon, I'd give the doc a call. I know everyone's pouch differs, but my surgery was 2 days before yours, and I had meatloaf and green beans for dinner yesterday..no sweat........and chili from Wendy's for lunch.....yogurt for breakfast.............and raw carrots w/pimiento cheese for a snack.........so, most days I can eat just fine.........except for chicken, lol...........and grits!! GRITS!! Who would have thought it? Tried it two days ago as a change from the breakfast yogurt, and was sick all day long........ Give the doc a buzz.........no need to worry over it. Hope it is something easy!!

Oh no Shannon. I am so sorry this is happening to you. Is it just the new foods that you introduce that is making you feel this way? Cheryl B rny 9/28/04

It's new foods, foods I have tried before. Just anything except the protein drinks and the cream of wheat. I really shouldn't complain because I can't over eat but I didn't want to have to live on the protein drinks. I want to be able to get protein in other ways. I will call him on Tuesday. Monday is of course a holiday so I will have to wait. I'll let you all know what they say. Shannon
