Anyone else have discomfort in jeans?
Hey there all you fellow September losers, just a quick question... I have lost about 21 pounds in the 3 weeks since surgery (plus 17 on the pre-op torture diet) and my jeans are loose everywhere but in the waist, especially when sitting. Is it possible that I still have swelling in my stomach or have all my muscles just gone limp? Anyone else experiencing this? I would like to move down to my next smaller set of jeans but sitting 8 hours with my waistband in my tummy is uncomfortable.
Hope you're all doing well and on your way to full recovery...

Hi Christine!
I'm only 2 weeks post-op, but definately have a swollen tummy. I have a lot of bruising and swelling and jeans are really uncomfortable around my waist. I was hoping that the swelling would go down by the third week, but since you're in the third week, I guess I should plan on waiting at least a month.

UGH...my ass has totally disappeared, but my STOMACH is HUGE.........still very swollen and tender at 5 weeks out.......GRRR....and "Oscar the Pouch" had started being a real prima donna. I did not throw up even ONCE in the first 4 weeks, but he is being a pill now.....hope it is just that he is tired of chicken and not the start of a complication...........
Wow...wish I could say the same...my butt is still there but at least it is smaller. I just wish my stomach would settle down because now I'm trapped between 2 sizes of jeans (which is what I wear every day). The larger just look like clown pants they're so baggy and the smaller fit but I better not eat too much or sit too long or watch out! Oh well...I guess I'll take this dilemma over out-growing my jeans!
BTW, I'm having the same issue with my pouch...I'm chalking it up to starting normal foods (finally) and learning what does and doesn't work for it. I've already learned that, as everyone tells ya...PROTEIN FIRST! And that does not mean protein with some carb...argh...I'll get it right eventually! What can I say...I'm stubborn through and through and ALWAYS learn the hard way. Dang!
Congradulations on the weight loss.
I would imagine you are still healing..... they did have to move a few things out of it natural habitat.
I would chalk it up to sore muscles. I have noticed a difference in how my jeans feel on me. Thank goodness they have a draw string & baggy.

I had surgery on September 1st and just this week I can wear things around my waist. I am still wearing my binder and I am beginning to think I am addicted to it. I was told that I could let it go after the 4th week but here I am almost 6 weeks and I feel as if I have to have it.
The pain will go away. I had open surgery and they had to cut me below my naval so unless you have a problem with your incision you should be fine.
We're TWINS!! My surgery was Sept 1 too!!
I wanted a binder in the worst way, as everything felt so much better when something was holding my stomach/middle/incision together....but my surgeon does not believe in them..... I still have an open "hole" from a wound infection..one that I get to pack twice a day....yuck...but at least it is higher up and does not bother the waist of my pants.......
BUT, it is so high up that it is RIGHT where my bra goes!! And, yes, the cups have gotten bigger after almost 6 weeks, but the band is no looser!! Hope this issue resolves soon, as it is really uncomfortable...
I think y'all are brave to try jeans.....I am still mostly in elastic waist pants, lol.
