12 days out and only down 6 lbs.
Hi all, I have been reading about so many of you losing 15-20 lbs in your first two weeks. My 6 lbs is really disappointing. I was only getting about 400 calories a day for the first week and know that if we don't eat enough we won't lose. So I called the dietician and she told me to start mixing my protein shakes with milk instead of water. That brought me up to about 700 cal. With only being allowed to eat three "meals" a day of 1/4 cup of cream soup, or sf jello or sf pudding, plus three protein shakes a day, how do you get your calorie intake up to 800-1000 a day? Any help out there for me? By the way, the website www.fitday.com is wonderful for keeping track of calories, protein and nutrients eaten in a day. I had to enter my protein drinks and some of the foods I eat as "new custom foods" but the effort was defenitely worth it because now it takes just a few seconds each time I eat to enter my foods and it adds up all the totals for me. I thought I'd mention a few of my favorite foods in the all liquid phase. I have heard some mention only clear liquids for the first 2 weeks but my program says liquids not just clear liquids. Campbells has some great soups. My three favorites are the cream of chicken/mushroom soup and also the split pea and ham soup and the bean and bacon soup. They are all low in fat and the pea and bean are high in fiber which helped me get "going" again after surgery. Be sure to blend them in your blender when you mix them with water to get all the chunks out. They are a great break from the sweet taste of the shakes.
Hope all of you newbies like me are doing well! And thanks to all you experienced ones for helping us newbies out!
Linda
