Hi I was going threw the messages and it is nice to hear from people experiencing similar things as I am. I had my surgery 10 days ago and I am still very blotted and uncomfortable. Is anyone else still feeling this way? I hardly ate anything in the first 7 days....I don't care if I never see broth or jello again aghhhhhhhh I have started on cream soups which are very filling and get very blotted after just a few spoonfuls. I also have terribly loose bowels. Is anyone else having problems with that. I too am cold alot, which I never was before the surgery. I can say in 6 days after my surgery I lost 7 pounds. I see my doctor tomorrow, IM anxious to be weighed. I don't feel like I have lost anymore because of the blotting. I feel like I am 12 months pregnant and look it ! When does the blotted and gas pains go away I want to know??? I am able to walk and have moved up to almost an hour a day. My motivation is eatting. I can't eat until I walk, Im too blotted, and after I eat I have to walk cause Im blotted from eatting!! Besides that I am doing sooo much better than the first week. I really was wondering why I did this, that first week was not fun. You all give me hope and inspiration and so much help reading your messages. Looking forward to getting to know you all Beth

Hi Beth, Congratulations on getting your surgery done. Mine was done on 9-20-04 so I am only a couple days further out than you. Yes the bloating and the gas pains will pass. I had both and they are now gone. My daughter is 7 months pregnant with their second child and I looked more pregnant than her. But that has gotten better. The loose BM s have also gotten better since I have been eating more liquids with fiber in them, such as Campbells bean and bacon soup and their split pea and ham soup. These are on my recommended foods list for the liquid phase, and they taste great after the sweet taste of the protein shakes, jello etc. Blend them well in your blender when you mix in the water so all the chunks are gone. Yummy! You are doing great to be walking so much! I haven't started that yet but need to start today. I have bad knees so have been avoiding it. But I need to start slowly and see how my knees take it. I know they will get better with weight loss. Keep up the good work. We too will make it!! Linda

Hi Beth, It gets better, I had my surgery on the 24th and had lose bowels until I went to my doc and he said to take 2 tums a day for calcium. He said that, that would firm my bowels and it did. Don't take both together take on in the mornig and one in the evening. Good Luck Vickie
