I am not sure if any one else has experienced this, but ever since I left the hospital I have been freezing. I can not get to a comfortable warm with out socks, and a very big sweater on. Please help me with this. I am worried about getting sick or something.

I think this is normal. I felt the same way and several others in my support group did too. I am three weeks post op and still can't get warm.

ME TOO!! And I have never before in my entire life been cold!!! After 4 weeks though, I find it is BETTER in that it is not all the time, lol..........but I still get cold. A really hot shower is the only thing that warms me up....

I feel the same way, before surgery I was always hot. I ran a fan at night and was still hot, since my surgery I am either cold or just right with no fan. I use to freeze everyone else.

I am freezing right now. My hands are so cold. I think it's better than being so darn hot like I used to be. Of course I was burning alot more fuel then!

YES! I noticed it first the last night in the hospital. One of the ladies in my surgeon's office had said that many of their patients complain about being cold post surgery. I thought it would be a while out as when I previously lost weight I noticed it when I was substantially thinner, but this started soon. I'm only 3 weeks out, but I'm comfortable at about 80 degrees and before it had to be 70 or I was hot! Next summer will be a breeze for me!

My doctor sent me home on a med. called Plavix it is to help prevent blood clots and it is becoming more popular to use after surgery it is a blood thinner.. and it can cause you to freeze I live in Southern North Carolina and have been freezing every since the surgery.... Hope this is helpful..... Michelle

Well I wasn't freezing as soon as I came home but I find that I get colder more often. I use to be out without needing a coat and lately I have been wearing my sweater. I get chills here and there. Sometimes it is from just being cold other times it is because of my water. Unfortunantly losing weight, especially a large amount usually makes a person cold. I have been told by other longer term post ops that they are cold alot. You could be getting a cold though, so just keep an eye on your body and see if you feel sick or if it is just chills. Shannon

Hi Tina I know the feeling. I am 13 days post-op and I am almost always cold, which is not me. I was always hot, my kids would complain that I was freezing them out, even at work I would have to have my very own fan at my desk. The co-workers are going to laugh. Essie 9/22/04
