Daily Fluid Intake
I wanted to run this by all of you POST OPs and see what you might suggest.
One thing I am having trouble with is getting in the 64 oz of water daily, I have developed a thirst for water which is a good thing. I bought the 20 oz bottles of Isopure in various flavors. If I sip on this throughout the day would this count as drinking not only 40 oz of protein but would it suffice as 20 oz of the 64 oz daily water requirement? I just find it kind of hard especially when the Dr told me I should not be drinking more than 4 oz at a time. Your input is appreciated.

Hi Marianne!
My doctors instructions for the clear liquid diet were to get 64 ounces of pure water a day and then there's no limit on the other liquids. I was also told that pure water meant just that and the only thing I was really allowed to add to it was ice and lemon.
So far I've only been able to get in about 48 ounces of water a day. I hadn't heard that you should only drink 4 ounces at a time, why is that? Doesn't it just drain on through? I was told to sip slowly but I honestly haven't had any discomfort with drinking normally. I do get a full feeling in my pouch and know enough to slow down when that happens, but how on earth can you get in 64 ounces of water a day if all you can do is slowly sip 4 ounces at a time?
I was also told that you can only consume and count 30 grams of protein at one time since that's all that our body can absorb at a time.
That's probably more than 2 cents worth, but hope it helps!
