I've hit a plateau already

and it bites. I know it wounds silly, but I'm betting that I'm not eating enough. I've seen on the main board that others have had this problem and have found that eating more actually helps jump-start your metabolism. I tried eating more yesterday, but something I ate at lunch really bothered me, and then I didn't feel like eating for the rest of the day. The doc is going to clear me for exercise this coming week (I had pulled a muscle in my abdomen) and I'm sure that will help too.

Hang in there Mary Alice... The weight WILL come down, and these plateaus at this point happen to alot of people from what I've read in all these profiles. Don't get discouraged. I think I'm going to be a bit of a slow loser but as long as I'm a loser, I'll take it! Hope your pulled muscle is all better and you can get movin' soon. ~Sue

I know what u mean. The first two weeks after surgery I lost 23lbs, but have been stuck since then?! It's a little discouraging, but I know it takes time!

I'm sorry that you've already hit a plateau. I know what you mean about trying to get more in. Yesterday I made a plan that I was going to try and get everything in but when I ate supper it made me so sick all night long. I didn't eat lunch but figured supper would be great. Today I have only had my protein drink. I just feel icky and don't want to eat. Hopefully what ever it is passes. I hope your able to jump start that weight loss again which I am sure you will. Have fun exercising. Shannon

I had to force myself to eat and still do sometimes. I eat even when I don't feel like eating, just so that I can get enough protein in. I know it's hard, but you have to eat often enough to keep your metabolism going. When you skip meals your body goes into starvation mode and will do it's best to hold on to and store more fat. (which is the oppisite of what we all want). If you're not already doing so, try some warm liquids before you eat. It helps to relax your stomach. I don't know about you, but when I eat, I have to be sitting up very straight and then frequently can't get up and move for about 10-20min. in order to give my stomach time to settle, otherwise I would get nauseous. Stick with it, you will do fine. Brook
