I didn't have any complications with the surgery or recovery so far!!! I have lost 13 lbs so far and I'm extremely excited about that. I have my first post op doctor visit on the 5th of oct. and I'm excited about that too. I have been hungry though and I don't know why....I thought we were'nt supposed to be hungry anymore I talked to some people on a weight lose chat room and they said that I need to start an eating schedule So I guess I will try that...Anybody got any other ideas or suggestions? My best friend and I did this surgery on the same day about 2 hrs apart so we have a great support group with each other but we are going throught this at the same time so i don't know more than her and visa versa so hopefully i can meet some new friends here and get new advice for both of us.. Well I guess I'll go for now sincerely, rebecca

First of all congrats on having the surgery and not having any complications. Secondly, I have to say that there were still times when I was hungry. I found that when I did eat it went away fast and usually until the next time I was to eat. I find now that if I don't eat all 3 meals that I feel hungrier at night time. Also you might not be getting enough water in. It is important to drink the water. If you feel real hungry after just having eaten less then an hour then there is a good chance you need some water. I hope that helps. Shannon

Hi! Congrats on the surgery! ;) I had surgery 2 days after you. Girl, I am Never hungry! I am always full full full. I went to a surgeon that has an awesome program in place and they have a great schedule to follow everyday, not strictly, but as a guideline. Let me tell you, I am so busy and so full trying to get everything in! Whew! Pureed foods, water, protein drinks, etc. Because it is suppose to take 1/2 hr. to 45 min. to eat and then that to rest in between any intake, I am never hungry. Suppose to have 60 gr. protein shakes besides the 3 TBSP of food each meal. Suggestion that give us is to add another TBSP of food at mealtime, to add drinking some milk too. ? Are you getting in your water and your chewable vitamins/calcium, etc. ? I also bought liquid b-12 at gnc for 7.99 not waiting until my hair comes out or I am unhealthy to boost that up. Anyway, I am tired, but thought I could at least post a little for you right now. Crystal light/sugar free non carbonated drinks too besides water. sip too! Man, I am always feeling so full. :O UGH! Take Care, BEST OF LUCK TO YOU and your buddy! ;) Another Sept. wls buddy, Love, Michelle

Hey, glad to hear you are home and doing well. I'm also on a well thought out program. I am eating 4 meals and a protein shake. I feel like all I do is eat. Anyways the point is...are you eating frequently enough? You can't skip meals or only eat 2x/day. They should have given you the amount of protein that they want you to ingest daily. A way to figure out how much you need to eat is to first figure out how much you can eat at one time. Say it's 1-2 oz. Each oz of protein is about 7 grams of protein. Milk is 8. Add up what you eat durring your meals and then find out what's left over and that is what you need to take in with a protein shake. For me that means that I have to have 4 meals and 1 protein shake that has 20-30 grams of protein in it. Also making sure you are getting at least 64 oz of water, preferable 73-100oz, plays a big role in reducing hunger. Also, make sure that you are not taking in any caffine. The caffine increases hunger. I hope this helped. Brook

THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE INFO!!! I AM SO THANKFUL TO HAVE PEOPLE THAT I CAN TALK TO ABOUT ALL THIS. THINGS ARE GOING ALITTLE BETTER NOW. I HAVE ADDED SOME SOFT SOLIDS TO MY DIET AND I HAVE FOUND A PRETTY GOOD PROTEIN SHAKE TO DRINK THAT HAS 21 GRAMS PER 11 OZ CAN SO THAT IS HELPING ALOT. I DON'T REALLY LIKE THE TASTE OF IT BUT I KNOW I NEED THE PROTIEN. I AM NOT GETTING IN ANYWHERE NEAR 64 OZ OF WATER SO I REALLY NEED TO WORK ON THAT......THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP AND PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW YOU ARE DOING . I REALLY ENJOY KNOWING HOW EVERYONE ELSE IS AS WELL AS SHARING MY JOURNEY WITH YA'LL. TAKE CARE, YOUR WLS BUDDY, REBECCA
