I went in for my 1 month post-op visit today and I've lost 31 lbs. I don't think that's too bad for 4 weeks. Brook

Good for you Brook. I had my surgery 09/02/04 and at my 2 week check-up I lost 21 lb. I have lost some since but not in the last week. I am trying to stay positive. I keep thinking, there is no way to cheat so the scale is going to move soon. Great work!!!! J.

GO BROOK!!! That is utterly awesome!! I go tomorrow for my 4 week visit..........won't be 31 lbs, but I am hoping for 25-26..............wonder if I can go in my nightgown?? Bound to weigh less than with real clothes on............ What got to change for you now that you are 4 weeks out? I am hoping to move up to soft foods.....not that I haven't already, lol...but officially! AND I am hoping to stop crushing pills! I am still looking for a better source of Calc Citrate than those darn wafers that take AGES to dissolve in your mouth.........

Thanks, I've been on soft food for 2 weeks now. I'm just suppose to start trying to increase my protein intake until I can tolerate 3 1/2 oz. along with my 1oz of veggie or fruit. I'm also suppose to start increasing my exercise to 50min 2x/day 6 days/week and add in light weights or resistance bands. They gave 2 more weeks before I have to return to work (I'm an ER nurse). I need the money, but know that I need to be healed completely and able to have enough energy for my 12 hour shift. Brook

Thanks, I go back in 2 months. But, they do weigh-ins at the monthly support group meeting and just before the support group meeting is a bariatric cooking class. I went yesterday, it was very good, I plan on going next month (if I don't have to work). They are making a pumpkin custard. Brook

WAIT A MINUTE...............EXERCISE 50 MIN 2X A DAY?????????????? Are you kidding me?? In my wildest nightmares this would never happen..... SURELY I misread that............TWICE A DAY?? 50 MIN?? I am working up to walking 30min maybe three times a WEEK............. Holy Cow...........you have one TOUGH surgeon!! How could you possibly have enough energy to do anything like that?? I can't even stay sitting up for more than about 2 hours!! And that is with a lot of pillows...... Where are you getting the strength and energy to do all this?
