I am 3 weeks out from surgery and am having trouble getting all of my protein. The Roadside Lemonade powder that I bought and liked before the surgery makes me want to yak. I also tried adding natural pnut butter to my breakfast shake and that makes me dump b/c it's so high in fat. Also, does anyone else have a much more heightened sense of taste? Sweet is so sweet and salty is sooooo salty!! Any Suggestions Welcome!! Please!!

I don't know if you have tried any of the protein shakes on the market yet but there is one kind of shake that a friend introduced me to and its called myoplex. It comes in all kinds of flavors, my favorite being cafe caramel, and it has 25 grams of protein in one 11 ounce serving. It comes pre-made. They make a myoplex lite and a myoplex carb sense which is what I have been drinking. Its a little to get used to but not too bad compared to others that I have tried and its a good way to get your protein in. I buy it at GNC. I don't know if you have one of those near you but just keep looking in health food stores of go to the GNC website. I know what you mean about worrying about getting all your protein in though. It's very hard to have such a small pouch and try to fit it all in. My doctor told me to just listen to my body and when I'm full just stop eating don't try to go abck to it. It is one of the reasons why those shakes help me so much. I wish I had more advice to offer, good luck and let me know what you think of those if you try them.

I buy my protein drinks from GNC. 1 bottle is 40 grams of protein. I did half for breakfast and half for dinner. It is called Natures Best by Isopure. They come in ready made bottles which cost $3.50 a piece. I buy mine at GNC but you may find it else where. I tried 4 flavors but only like the Grape and Orange. Try that and see if it works. Maybe you could try cottage cheese. 1/2 cup has 13 grams of protein and a hard boiled egg has 6. I hope that helps. Shannon

How can anyone eat cottage cheese?????? I never could do it without gagging before surgery, and hoped maybe it would be one of those tastes that changed...............NOPE!!! The gag factor is way too high! Will have to try the Nature's Best, though....thanks for the ideas.

I'm 6 days out and all of my senses are heightened. I notice flowers, bad breath and any other smells a lot easier and they are a lot stronger. I used to be a salt and pepper girl and some of the soups I've been eating are already too salty. I know exactly what you mean. Kell

Just wanted to let you all know that I found the Isopure at my GNC. It has 40grams per bottle and tastes better than the mix I had been drinking. Thank God!

Hi everyone I am 2 weeks out and feeling great, my first day back to work was yesterday. I wanted to let you know that I use Powered Unjury Vanilla protein, and sugar-free tang, and it tastes just like a dreamsicle. It is yummy! Each scoop has 20 grams of protein, 1 scoop makes 6-8 ozs. Hope this helps you.
