Is anyone else here tracking on fitday and if so, what kinds of numbers do you have on calories about 3-4 wks post op... Also, have you been getting an error code on there lately? Hope all is well with my Sept. buds... ~Sue

Hey, Sue..I am trying to do Fitday too....started with the free online one, and bit the bullet and paid $20 for the downloadable one two days ago. The free one was easier to use for me, but I like the additional charts, etc of the $$ one. As for calories........well, the past 5 days I have varied from about 550 to 900........that was the day I ate too many cashews, lol! How many are we supposed to be getting?? I try for at least 60g of protein a day, and that has been not too hard now that I am using the Biochem lowcarb smoothie. I drink one a day........throughout the day........and it has 32g of protein. How are your calories looking? I have not had a problem with an error code........... Hope things are going well with you. I am still packing my incision wound twice a day where I had an infection, but otherwise doing ok. Think it is time to lower my bp meds again, though.....this low bp is KILLING me!

Hey Louise, Yes definitely lower your BP drugs because you do not want to end up passing out and hitting your head or something like that! My mom had some scary experiences with her BP meds being too much as she lost weight (through diet) and almost passed out a couple of times. Is your incision healing nicely with the packing? Is it very difficult to do each time? I was wondering how you were doing with that. I am considering buying the $20 version of fit day also. I have been having about 840 ish calories a day, about 60 grams of protein. I think my calories are a bit high for post wls, but I am very comfortable, no sickness, and realistically I know that if I were doing 840 calories on a diet (without wls) then I would be doing amazingly well. I do realize my weight loss will prob. go slower than many, but maybe that is for the best for my skin and everything. I haven't learned how many calories we're supposed to be having, officially. I read some posts on the August 2004 board re: this topic. Most were in the 600-700 calorie range. But one lady said her dr. told her she should be around 1000 cal. a day if she can manage that. Most said they couldn't get more calories in than they already were. I wouldn't say that's true for me. I COULD eat more calories I think, but I am very satisfied where I'm at. i just hope things stay this good, and I am able to lose what I need to and maintain afterward. (don't we all!)

Ive tried Fitday, but it doesnt have the amount that I eat. 1.5 oz or 2 oz. etc. so I dont use it. I wish there was a program for WLS patients.

Hello, You know you can put in fractions on the portions... for example, if the portion for the item says 1 cup, you can put in a decimal for the amount such as .15 for about an eighth of a cup. The decimals work for almost all the increments. This is how I do it and it works out fine. ~Sue
