5 Days Post Op!
I have to say, I was so focused on how eating would be different afterwards and prepping myself for that...I was not EVEN ready for the discomfort after surgery. My first couple days were pretty trying on my emotions and confidence in my ability to make wise decisions, lol. But...5 days later, the discomfort is easing, I'm really only finding it necessary for pain meds at bedtime. My one incision on the side, they had to cut through muscle, so it's pretty tender...but getting better each day. I've had my break-down moments and I'm SOOO tired of the menu already...but I just keep saying, 'It's going to get better'. Family and friends have been so supportive and have been sending money for my 'NEW CLOTHES' fund...so that's exciting, I wasn't even considering that, but it has given me new energy!!
I wish the best of luck to all of you and would love to continue hearing about everyone elses progress.
We're gonna be great!!!

Hang in there Kalisha! I'm 3 days post-op and feel real good and know that you will be feeling better each day too! You're doing the right thing by focusing on the exciting things to come (new energy, clothes, better health!) but also remember that this surgery is a tool and we are going to have to work on it...very little worth having comes easy so be strong, think positive and lets continue this journey in the right spirits!
My best to you

Congrats guys!! I am also 5 days post-op and feeling really great! I am very sick of the menu as well, but it's ok, everything is so new I am trying to focus on it as an adventure that can only lead to good things!! I had a bad so I'm sure my pain is nowhere near yours but I too am not taking my pain med's except for bed time. If i dont I wake up every hour when i instinctively try to roll over onto my stomach...OUCH! I wanted to wish you all the best and am glad we have each other to rely on for even the silliest questions!

Well it was a fast 5 days then if your already starting to feel better. My incision where the muscle was cut hurt for like 2 weeks but more when I slept on it all night. Wow, lucky you getting money for new clothes. I asked for a gym membership since my birthday is in a little over 2 weeks. I hope your recovery is a fast one. Keep us posted.

Kalisha,
I had surgery on September 20th, so I guess I am 9 days post op. I was totally unprepaired for the post op experience, and the pain... I had incredible back and rib pain while in the hospital and am still battling this. This has been more severe than incisional pain. My surgeon said other patience have mentioned this and doesn't know why. I am battling up and down emotions and am trying to savor every wonderful, tasteful bite of Cream of Chicken soup, or tomato soup...and can begin eating pureed foods on October 11th. Hang in there. God Bless
Mary
