RACHEL
Rachel,
What you are feeling is totally normal. I went through the very same thing before my surgery 3 days ago, meaning I was a blubbering fool in surgery pre-op! After surgery went great (I don't remember much of recovery) and once I got to my room I got up and went to the bathroom! My best advice is to BELIEVE it is going to be fine (try not to think anything less) and set a small goal for post-op, i.e, to walk the evening of surgery...something! You have wonderful support and know that all of us hear at OH are sending you lots of strength and good thoughts.
See you on the losing side soon!
DJ PS: It's okay to cry...let the stress go!
Rachel,
This is major surgery and you should be concerned not scared. I just had it done on 9/17, and I have had absolutely no complications!
Trust in your surgeon and the lord and all else will take care of itself.
As I lay on op table in surgery, I just kept saying this is what I have to do to save my life, and it is the first day of my new healthier life!
As for the hunger before surgery we have all been there, you are no different. But, again, it is a small price to pay for the healthy future you and your family deserve.
My prayers are with you....may God truly bless you and the surgeon tomorrow, because you two will be working together.
Best wishes on your journey!
Charles
