Less than 1 week to go

I had my pre-admission testing today, I don't think I had this much bloodwork done with both pregnancies combined. I'm feeling anxious and I have so many questions, but I don't know where to begin. The one that has crossed my mind is for anyone that has had a lap RNY, how much time did you passed before returning to work?

Hey I wish you the best. I read from everyone that they had a lot of blood taken. That is so strange because I only had 3 vials taken, not much at all. I guess it all goes by the surgeon. I am a stay at home mom so that last question I can't answer. I did have Lap RNY and I am on week 2 almost. I fell great. I clean like the wind. I actually have so much freaking energy it is insane. My back use to hurt from walking less then 10 feet. Now I can go almost all day before it starts hurting. Beofre I babble anymore my point is just that if your not working at a high impact job. Some where that requires heavy lifting etc you should be able to go back in no time. Your surgeron should let you know when he/she comes to visit you at the hospital. Just try to remember to ask. Write a list of post-op questions and take them with you. You may forget something whlie your in there. Best of luck to you. Shannon

Hi - I know your feelings very well! I had the Lap last week (Sept. 7th) and it went really well. I was released on the 9th and came home with absolutely no problems. Sure, the biggest incision is very sore but every day gets better. I took the pain medication for a few days but now am not taking any. As for working, my doctor suggested 2 weeks but it depends on a couple of things: how YOU feel and what kind of work you do. I have an office job but it's kind of stressful so I'm laying out for another week or so. Good luck to you!!
