My BMI is 54 and I will be in surgery in the morning at 6:30. MD states it is no problem. I also gained about 20 pounds from the time I began my quest until now. Best of luck and do not worry. God watches over all of us. S. Bumgardner

My BMI prior to surgery was 64. I had lap RNY on 09/07/04 and so far no complications. My surgeon did put me on a diet prior to surgery, but I wound up getting sick and having to take prednisone, so I gained weight. I still had my surgery. God Bless and God Speed on you surgery. Cindy

HI !!! My BMI is 54, it was 58! I have been trying to loose per my Doctors' request, but since all my tests came back really well there is no problem. I heard they rather have it under 50, but that is unlikely. I did a huge amount of walking , that helped I think. My date is the 22nd. Good Luck to you! ****HugS***
