Surg 7th and doing good
HI, I had my LAP Rny Tuesday morning, came home at around 7:00 last night. No problems for which I am incredibly grateful but I am soooo sore, I walk all hunched over and take my pain med every four hours right on time. I feel like a train hit me, today was a little better than yesterday so hopefully tomorrow will be better too. Melissa
Melissa... Ditto on what you said. I also had LAP RNY Tuesday morning (10:30AM) and was told I had a textbook bypass, but OH MY I have so much pain... both gas and at the "stab wounds" (that is what my doctor called them when I said I was hurting there). I'm also having the uneasy feeling of my innards moving around because the gas is there allowing movement. I'm hunched over and taking my meds. How are you doing on the drinking? I couldn't get down 20 oz of clear fluids between Friday night and LATE LATE Saturday night. Hopefully each day gets better. Good luck to both of us. Let me know if anything helps you and I will do the same.
Laura
Hi Laura, I definitely have the same pain with the stab wounds and gas moving around in there.. yesterday I had 6oz of really warm chicken broth and that moved some of the gas out I think. The nurse in the hospital told me anything warm I could get down would help with the gas but yesterday was the first time I was brave enough to try it. I have had no problem getting in 40oz of water a day for the last 3 days and at least one protein drink of around 6oz. If you like Chocolate try Proscore 100 protien shake I ordered the sample from Vitalady.com it is sooo yummy!! Talk to you soon, Melissa
well i had my surgery on the 7th at 8.00am also and i had alot a pain at first, it's been five days still walk a little hunched over and some soreness, oh don't let me forget the gas. I cant seem to get all my protien in or any liguids. I have been sipping on water I feel dry alot and the jello is good. but since I have been home I have been cooking non stop for my family and the urge to taste isn't there anymore. oh I have stopped taking my meds because I am not in alot of pain and I want to be able to drive soon. good luck lol.
