Hi all - I'm new, in Burnsville MN Looking to dive deep into this support rather than lurking - but I have learned a lot by lurking. What should I have on hand when I get home from the hospital? And....does anyone know of any support groups or friends in the Burnsville area? (55337) My email is in my profile - would love to hear from you (B4 Monday, of course!) Theresa

Well to tell you the truth the only thing I really wanted was my bed. I slept when I first came home. Almost all day. Then I woke up the next morning with a god awful ear infection that I have been fighting all week. Today I finally got over to GNC and bought some protein drinks. They are pretty cheap at 3.50 a bottle considering I would drop 20 a night going out for fast food with my hubby. Also it was very hard for me to get my vitamins in the first day I came home. They made me so sick. But I tried taking them today without drinking anything afterwards and they went down a lot easier. As far as eating. Since swallowing has been difficult for me due to the earpain I haven't eaten as much as I should. I have been trying to drink my eater though. I figure something is better then nothing. I am going to start on my first protein drink tomorrow. I will let you know how I like them. I got a few different flavors. Off the top of my head I remember an apple, blueberry and grape but the other one I can't think of. I was happy to see they had 40 grams of protein, low in calories and NO SUGAR!!!! I hope that helps and I wish you all the best. Shannon

Did you sleep well in the bed? Did you have problems getting up in the morning, or were you a lap band patient? I'm going for the open RNY, so I'm thinking about renting/buying a recliner for the first week or so. Jb
