My date is Sept 20th quickly approaching. And I am super excited and believe I am realistic I have been investigating and reading about this for the last 2 years that I've been waiting. But I can not sleep some nights. I'm a real worrier and maybe that's it. But some night NO matter what I do I can not sleep last night I didn't sleep at all and work up and went to work. Does anyone else have this problem or had it and corrected it somehow. Thanx

Hi Darlin', My date is on the 20th as well, and though I'm sleeping, the paranoia and fear gets to me sometimes. I have to keep giving it over to the Lord, because I know if I let my mind run away with it, it'll totally consume me. I'm actually considering talking to my mother-in-law who had the surgery in February, AND WE HAVEN'T SPOKEN TO EACH OTHER SINCE CHRISTMAS 94!!!! lol I guess I'm so used to doctors telling me how dangerous it was for people my weight to have surgery, that I can't shake the fact that my doctor knows what he's doing. If you want to talk, let me know, cuz I'm here. J.B.

Hi Cherilyn, I've been doing a lot of praying and trying to remember that fear only comes from the enemy. Also, I bought some OTC generic benedryl for an itchy rash I was dealing with and noticed it helps on really restless nights. Will keep you in my prayers. God Bless! Kathy

Oh my gosh, you aren't kidding. Not only that, I've been having the weirdest dreams! Not too much nightmares about the surgery, but odd things... For example, I dreamt that I was in the hospital after the surgery - I could FEEL the staples down my belly (I've had 2 vertical c-sections with staples) in my dream... I was starving, so my husband brought me a hotdog, in the bun, and I wolfed it down - then realized what I'd done and started gagging, throwing up, and crying. They had to stick a tube down my throat to retrieve it. Another one was again about staples in my stomach (I know I'm having an open, so I assume I keep attributing those same staple lines) - however, this dream, there were FOUR 12 inch lines of staples in different places on my stomach. One from the RNY for my stomach, one for the intestines, one for the gallbladder, and one for the hernia they're going to fix. Man. Me and the staples!

My date is the 21st and I'm not sleeping either. I just talked to my doc and because the benedryl they recommended first didn't help she's giving me a mild sleeping pill and a anxiety med. I think what we're going through is very normal. This is risky, but worth all the risk. Hang in there. Marie

Hi Cherilyn, My date is Sept 27th, I am sleeping but having weird dreams some nights also. From what I have read on the main board the advice given is keep as preoccupied as possible. That is not hard for me with 3 teenage boys and all different schedules and a husband to boot. I worry alot at night also try taking a nice hot bubble bath or a long shower put on your favorite CD, start reading a book. You will be in my prayers. Sonya Hope you have sweet dreams tonight.

OMG I'm glad I'm not the only one...and for those that are sleeping I hope I don't jinx you. I have been saying my prayers and asking God specifically for a problem-free surgery and recovery. But it is in God's hands and I know that and that is the only thing that can give anyone peace, well for me it does as He knows best. I'm so into dreams well I look stuff up on this website http://www.dreammoods.com and there is a dictionary there too and you can even click on colours, feelings and/or the specific item or whatever you dreamt about. I don't know if anyone will visit it or try it but it's worth it maybe. Myself 'one night when I did sleep ha ha' dreamt that I was on a train and when I looked it up at least that was good: "To dream that you are on a train, is symbolic of your life's journey and suggests that you are on the right track in life and headed for the right direction. Alternatively, you have a tendency to worry needlessly over a situation that will prove to work out in the end." OMG was I not sooooooooooo happy it was something good that it said ha ha. Well if anyone checks it out I would be curious to know if you then start looking up everything like me ha ha.

Hey Cherilyn, Its so funny that you posted this because I was just talking to my mom about this. I have not been sleeping at all since I got my date. (Sept 23 is my big day) I just cant sleep. Last night I was up and down til 3am then I fell asleep til 6. Im exhausted. Last night I kept thinking about sept 23rd and worrying. I felt like there was somthing surrounding this day that im forgetting about, I dont know if that makes sence. Sorry for rambling. Hope you have sweet dreams tonight. With love Em
