waiting on approval

it has been 2 weeks since i have went to see the doctor. i am now waiting on approval from BC/BS of alabama. my doctor says it normally takes 2-4 weeks. i am reading all the literature on the surgery and the changes i am going to have to make after i am able to get the surgery. any suggestions would be appreciate ! T

tony, which type surgery are you having done? I am waiting to see how much my insurance will pay for a revision, I had the ring done 4 years ago and it has broken so I am going to have to rny now, so maybe we can keep each informed on the process of the insuance companies,,, my is bc bs anthem. good luck to you, darlene

Tony you can call your insurance to find out the status. Just ask for member services and they can let you know what's going on. The insurance companies will drag their feet if you don't stay behind them. I know this. I have been an insurance claims specialist for 16 years now working cardiology. If for some reason you get denied, ask for a phone conference (three way) with your doctor and their medical director. This has more pull than you realize. Good luck. C.
