This was posted yesterday so I thought I would post it here too : Well it is 12:50 and I am now home. It was a crazy ride to say the least. When I woke up out of recovery I was so out of it and in so much pain all I could do was scream it hurts... it hurts. And they insisted they already gave me stuff. My O2 stats dropped and I would stop breathing so they put an oxygen tube in my nose to assist me. For three hours I was in recovery while they kept saying breathe debra breathe. I kept the oxygen on for 2 days. But when I finally got the groggy out of my head and realised where I was I was off to my room. For the first day I continued to violently throw up blood. Alot of it. It would slosh around and almost fill the throw up bowl half way. They kept wringing my washcloth out to wipe the blood from my mouth. That was the worst. The second day I threw up whatever was left in my body. Mainly fluid and dry heaves. Every single time I would try to get up.. .whether it was to go to the bathroom or try to walk , as soon as I sat back down, Iwas throwing up again. THey tried shots to stop the vomiting but none worked. Finally another medication worked and it stopped. I have been off my iv and pain meds since yesterday. I am a little sore today but more tired than sore. I have NO energy. THey already removed my staples. I had 4 -5 staples in each site and there were 6 sites all over my belly. I don't have an appetitte for anything right now. Everything smells bad to me. I swear. Even just walking in the room I can smell every little thing and it makes me sick. Hope that passes. The only thing I really eat is one - two sugar free popcicles a day. My mother just went on a food/ meds run for me. I get liquid Loratab so I hope I get to rest better now. They had these special bariatrics beds in the hospital that were like air mattresses and whenever you moved , they would inflate / deflate to keep your body moving. But there was no back support with it. SO I am glad to be home. I have to have people watch me for a few days so my mother is spending the night tonight. But I just thought I would let you all know what happened. I was supposed to be released yesterday and taken off the meds the day before that but bc i was vomiting everytime i got up , they extended my morphine and Iv for 24 hours and just kept me another night. But all things are welll now. I am off to shower the hospital stink off of me. Ty all for keeping me in your thoughts. ~much love. Deb

Dear Deb, I am so glad to hear that you are home. It sounds like you had quite a time in the hospital. The blood vomiting sounds so scary. I agree about the bath. I have had many other surgeries and I can never wait to get home to a shower. My WLS surgery is coming up later in the month. Love to you ,Susan
