I am having RNY lapr and don't know what my recovery time will be? How soon will I be able to exercise? I think the dr. office is sending information but I have not received it yet. I am a little nervous. Thanks! Suzy

I am having the same surgery and from what I was told it isn't to long. A friend had her's 6 weeks ago and she is doing great. Some people are sore for a week others not as long. I think it all depends on how you heal and how much you do right away. I wish you all the best and I hope you get your packet before your surgery. Shannon

My wife had it done on the 21st of July and she was able to work out l(litely) in 3 weeks. Your doctor will give you time line. Every Doc. is different. Good luck and best of luck to you.. Jason

Isn't sept 14th a good day? I am having open and they have told me I will be walking that night and everyday thereafter. I can't lift anything heavier than 15 pounds for 8 weeks and no abdominal heaving or pushing for 6-8 weeks. I was told I could use 5# weights right away and walk as far as I could tolerate immediately. Hope this helps... wanda
