I'm going to have my surgery on Sept 7th, it's getting so close! Question: What about things like pain? Is it really really bad? Are you able to get up and move around on your own a week or so after the surgery?! Will I need help getting around my house? Do I need to look into having a friend come stay for a week or so? Or will i be able to pretty much be okay if I take it easy? Please help! All comments are appreciated!

Having a friend stay over with you for a week or two wouldn't be a bad idea. As I mentioned before, everyone is different. I think what we fear (and I am experiencing the same thing) is the unknown. I mean, we prepare the best we can but its just the not knowing that is getting to us. But who knows maybe your friend could stay for a couple of weeks just to help you out if you need. It wouldn't hurt you any. As for pain, I am a big WUSS. LOL. But whereas you may tolerate pain really really well. So its kind of hard to tell you what you'll be feeling. I just hope and pray that it goes smooth for all of us with a minimal amount of pain. Congratulations on your date! and Welcome! Erin

My doc said he'll have me out of bed and walking the day of surgery. Of course, it wont' be anything huge, but I will be up and about. I plan on staying with my mom a few days after the surgery only because I live 4 hours away from the hospital.
