Well it was too good to be true I guess... My docs office called and, yep, you guessed it My surgery date is changed. So I won't be having the surgery on 9-16 as originally scheduled it will be on the 28th. The docs office assures me its cemented in stone. So keep your fingers crossed for me. Oh and the 28th is my DH's bday so I'm going to give him a new me ... Hey, for those of you working .... how did you break the news of your surgery to your boss/office? Did you tell them what type of surgery? Im not really close to anyone at my office and I'm wondering what I should tell them since Hubby's insurance is paying for it.. (Im a Contractor on an assignment for an agency) Any opinions out there ?

Well the change must be for the best and since it is cemented in stone I am happy for you. I hope your husband appreciates his wonderful birthday gift. About 2 years ago I got my very best birthday gift ever, my baby girl and now this year I get a whole new me. I can't think of a better present. Good luck and I wish you all the best.... Shannon

My boss found out by seeing WLS material on my desk. She approached me about it. I told her that I wasn't planning on saying anything until I knew it was written in stone. By law, I don't have to tell her anything but I just said what type of surgery I was having and when. That was it. I think both should probably know. But if your agency is representing you then I would tell the agency and give the agency ample time to find a replacement. I think that the agency should let the contractor know unless you want to tell them both. I am not sure how your work situation is but that is what I would do. Now you have 2 special occasions to celebrate. Congrats on your date and good luck with your decision. Erin
