Hit another freakin snag.....very long vent
I cannot tell you how much I appreciate all of your support. I mean it. I get bent out of shape when I am frustrated and angry. But now things are slowly working its way back to "normalcy"...LOL....You just want to bang your head against the wall. Couldn't they said something about the psych letter being VAGUE like weeks before instead of waiting to tell me 17 days before my scheduled surgery?? Come on.
But a quickie update: I saw my psychiatrist who prescribed me Zoloft last night and it was an intense interview. She doesn't care for WLS but she gave her professional opinion that I AM SANE enough to have the surgery. So they are going to fax a clearance letter over to the surgeon's office today and a copy to me as well today. Well, keeping my fingers crossed and knocking on my head that they do it today.
So my last and final hurdle is to lose some weight. I am NOT required to lose it but I want to show my surgeon that I am totally comitted to having WLS so I want him to see that. He just does NOT want me to put anymore weight on. So it is now a waiting game until August 30th at 10:45AM.

Erin - Just like everyone else, I am really sorry that you are having to go through this crud The last thing that we need in the last few weeks before surgery is an increase in the stress in our lives. Girlfriend, give yourself a break! Remember the Mickey D commercial that said "You deserve a break today, so get up and get away"? That is pretty good advice. Even if it is just to treat yourself to a nice lavender , something that you know you will not be able to eat after surgery, a new pair of socks..... (yes, I said socks..... I love socks!) or a pedicure (even better than socks!). It doesn't have to be big or important-- just something that will make you feel good.:rolf:
Most importantly, get some !
Finally, if your doc is not requiring you to lose weight before the surgery - don't sweat it. If we had success with diets, dieting and depriving ourselves in the past, we wouldn't be having WLS now. Choose your fights wisely. You must have the papers , but you don't have to lose weight! That will come into play in another 10 days - God willing.
I am thankful for the Zoloft (and Wellbutrin and Xanax) that I take, especially during the stressful times. I think they help. Boy, with that list of meds it makes me wonder if I am - No I don't wonder... I know the answer!
Sending you peace........
