Tricia,
Sound like your doing great!!! I also didn't realize this message board excisted either. I had my surgery on 9/22/03. Your message sounds just like me. Everything from the rings to the clothes. I'm in a size 20 Plus and some 22 plus still and I can wear some shirts that are 18 plus. I couldn't even go to walmart and buy clothes. But now I can. I was stuck in sweat pants for so long. My sister was teasing me about it would'nt be long now and I would be trying on hoochie clothes. I said I don't even know what hoochie clothes are. and she just laughed. She said well I don't want to see you in any and a nother lady said oh yea she can try on hoochie clothes at least one time. They are all crazy.
I started at 354 1 month before surgery and now I'm at 240. I'm 5' 5".
Well I'll let you go for now.

Topic: RE: 50 lbs to go.
Hello,
Is the first time I've posted on this page. I usally use my home state page. I just thought I would check up on other people who had there surgery in 9/03. I had mine on 9/22/03. I weighed 354 1 month before surgery and now I'm down to 240. I feel so much better. But I've been having some problem's with my wrist, finger's, feet and hands go numb and tighten up alot. My surgeon say's its spasumes, so he put me on liquid potassum which is nasty and doubled up my calcium, and started extra magniseum. Around christmas I started having problems with dizzyness. I have a friend who had this problem and she said it was her Iron. It sounds like you are doing great!!!! I'm only 5' 5" so I really have a ways to go. But thats okay because I've come this far.
Well guess I'll let you go for now.

Topic: 50 lbs to go.
Hi, guys and gals, I had my surgery on Sept. 30th. Started my losing streak at 348 lbs.. I have lost 100 lbs to date. Still have approx. 50 lbs to go. I am 6' 1". I really don't want to lose below 200 lbs. Has anyone heard of any post surgery patient not being able to stop losing weight once their desired weight has been obtained?
Topic: RE: 36 POUNDS TO GO
Hello. I also had surgery on Sept 3rd. I am only down 59# as of today. I started at 245 I am now 186. I would like to lose another 50 if possible. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you start at? Also, how tall are you. I am 5'4" and don't have a definate goal yet. My doctors says not to set one. Just curious what yours is. Great job on your loss so far and keep going!!! AMY
Topic: hi all!!! i didnt know
hi i did not know until just this second that there was a message board for others who had surgery in september .
i had my lap rny on 9/8/2003 and am just about 15 weeks out and down 70 lbs
i am so excited!! i can feel the difference in my clothing as i have gone from a tight 30 down to an 18.
all my rings are so loose they spin on my fingers and i am now wearing a ring that used to be on my index finger on my thumb now.
i have gone down a shoe size and width from a 9 wide to a regular 8.
i started at 289.5 and am 5-1 inches and now weigh 219.5. i would just love to get down to 118-125 but would be so very happy with anything under 150 ( included 149.99999)
just wanted to check in here because i just discovered this message board and wanted to put myself out there and maybe connect with others who had surgery about the time i did

I know what you mean. I have my surgery 11 weeks ago and have lost 55 lbs. My goal was 50lbs by Christmas. People can definitely notice, but I just wi**** was more noticable. I think I've dropped about 2 sizes...I now have to pin my pants for them to stay up. I'm planning on going shopping after Christmas.
Keep up the good work!!

I didn't know that there was a msg board here at Obesityhelp.com like this. I was posting on my doctor's board which has been down since Oct.
Well, I had my surgery on Sept. 12th. I've now lost 71 lbs. I was 350 and am not 279. I work out 5x a week before work...that's at the disgusting hour of 6am.
I haven't been feeling too great emotionally the past few days. I was speaking to a friend about it. I am trying to remind myself of the amazingness of having lost what I have... but Sunday I took a bra and panties picture and we did tape measurements and I just didn't look like I thought I did or wanted to before Xmas.
I don't know if any of you are like me, but I will be seeing my extended family who hasn't seen me since the operation. I know there is a definite, undeniable difference in my appearance but I was just wanting to wow them a little more than I will. At any rate, have any of you felt like you haven't lost what you wanted to by xmas?
