12 days and I will be 5 months out. I have only lost 62 lbs. Seems like its a struggle for each pound. Dr. Rodriquez said I was doing about right at my last visit...its just hard when you see other people MELTING! I need to stop griping and count my blessings!

Hello, fellow September barries. I was just wondering where everyone is in their weight loss. I will be five months out on Wednesday and wonder if I'm on track. As of last week, I have lost 78 pounds. I'm hoping to be down 80 pounds by my five month weigh-in in two days. How much weight has everyone else lost? Just curious. Hugs, ~Kristy (lap rny 9/18/03 - 320-242-168)

Topic: RE: Working out
I had a Very hard time getting started exercising mainly because I was afraid of hurting myself. i joined curves gym in January and I love it. I go every day after work and I can work as hard or as soft as I wish. Sometimes I go around the circuit more than the normal times because I have so much energy. I love the blaring musci too it really gets me pumped up. I plan on walking too when the weather warms heres but for now its curves. I do have every workout machine imaginable at home but never seem to use it there go figure

Topic: RE: pouch
Pam, First your pouch will stretch over time. My surgeon told me that by six months after surgery my pouch will have doubled in size. My stomach immediately after the operation was about 30 cc's which holds just a few teaspoons of food. I specifically asked my surgeon about stretching the pouch from overeating. He said, it can happen, but you would have to continiously over eat, large amounts of food for it to happen. I can't imagine myself, why anyone would want to eat so after surgery..cause one bite to many as I have found is very painful and very uncomfortable. Would not want to subject myself to that! Cheers, Gen

Topic: RE: slow loser
I know it is hard to look at what others have done and wonder why you are not losing at the same rate. I had Open RNY on 9/2 and have very good success, as of Jan 27 I had lost 150 lbs, but I do not compare myself to others at all. We are all different and our bodies are all unique. 60 pounds is a brilliant weight loss . The one thing that helps me is I keep a diary of what I eat and I only weigh myself once a month on the same day. It is to easy to become obsessed by the scales. Just keep eating right, drinking water, and exercise and it will come off. Cheers, Gen
