Jesse, I so enjoy your posts (thank God it's Friday!).
And, no need to deny it - we are all so attractive, fit and healthy!
This is a very good life!
Congrats, too, on the two pound loss this week! I, myself, am practically doing backflips (well, I'm doing them in my mind, anyway), about finally reaching 153 two days ago. This morning, the scale wanted to hit 152.5 really badly, but it always ended up resting at 153. Still, I know I'm within spitting distance of my "normal" weight goal of 150. I really hope to be celebrating that in the next week or two, despite just coming out of three weeks where I've struggled to lose even a half pound.
Jen.

Sorry it took so long to reply back..I haven't been online because I have been so busy. The way I get my protein in is mainly protein bars and protein shakes. I eat the genisoy protein bars...less than 2g of sugar..160 calories..and 15 grams of protein and I drink the Atkins protein shakes...170 calories..less than 2g of sugar and 20 grams of protein. Normally, what I do is eat real food for a week (boiled eggs, cheese, meat..things like that) and then for the following week...I will eat two protein bars, two protein shakes, and a super small meal to get my protein in. The best thing you can do is keep a food journal...the plus factor for that is it keeps you honest...you will be less likely to snack
I hope this helps.

Topic: Horray For 205!!!
Hi Everyone:
I'm completing my 34th week of post surgery life and I am more excited than ever. I lost 2 pounds this week and my weight now stands at 205 pounds. That's a 168 pound loss and my lowest weight since 1974. I'm healthier than I've been in the last 15 years and although my PCP is trying his best, he can't find anything wrong with me.
My waist is now 34 from 52, my shirt size is medium from 3 XL, I have more lean muscle as the result of weight training and according to most people I run into on a daily basis, I look great. I know some of you get on me about vanity but what am I supposed to do, deny the facts (LOL).
This journey is not only a way to a healthier life but a real learning experience. I have learned so many things from all of you that has helped me in achieving the results I now enjoy. I look forward to the many exciting days to come as a healthier, happier person.

Ive had dumping problems since day one, but now its worse. Now after a little sugar or white carbs I get so tired and weak I have to lie down. It is definately incentive to not eat! If I just have to have a bite of something I follow it with some protien, and that helps alot! Good luck!

Topic: RE: How do you feel?
Hello! I understant how you feel. I look at pants and think..my thighs will never fit in those! I work with a very blunt friend and she keeps reminding me.. " your thighs are smaller than mine!" "you need a new picture on your
desk...that doesnt even look like you" and one the topic of bathing suits
"you are not a fat person anymore...you can wear what you want to".
I think it just takes awhile for our body image to be realistic! I went out this weekend and got some looks and for a minute I thought "Is something wrong?" I didnt know if my hair was crazy or if I had toilet paper on my shoe...just not used to attention yet!
Topic: RE: How do you feel?
No LeeAnn you are not the only one who feels that way. I still feel so very fat. I am down from 258 to 168 ( have gained a pound in 3 wks.instead of losing it!). I still feel huge. I still wonder if i can sit in certain chairs, or wont wear certain things cause I think I look too fat in it. Its a mind game. We all have it and some of us are more affected by it than others. I am only 5'2 so each ounce shows up so much on me. I have people tell me all the time how good I look and I dont need to lose any more and I think wow these folks are crazy, cant they see Im still fat? Today has been my worse day since surgery. I went and weighed and realized that instead of losing weight I gained weight. I have cried no n stop since 8 am. So no honey you are not alone. We'll all have these feelings off and on. It does get better I hear.....
Hugs,
Carol

Topic: How do you feel?
At 7 1/2 month post op. I am dowm 136 pounds. I started out at 297, I am 5'10" I now weigh 161. Every one keeps telling me that I am small enough. I personally do not feel it. I still feel large! Do any of you guys feel this way? When I go to sit down I still wonder if (THAT CHAIR WILL HOLD ME) Then I remember that I have lost all that extra weight. I was wondering if I was the only one that felt this way.
Topic: RE: Anyone else having bowel problems all of a sudden?
I have been going through the same thing. The difference is that I have been experiencing this since 3weeks post op. I have not been able to go without using something like MOM or Correctol. When it gets really bad I use a Dulcolax suppository. It is very uncomfortable and I am beginning to think ther is something wrong with me. My Doc didn't seem to feel anything was wrong so I have yet to be tested for any kind of blockage. just yesterday I spoke with a nurse and she told me to use metamucil every morning with breakfast and at night after dinner and to use a fleet enema every day until I become regular. Okay, doesn't that sound a bit extreme? and I wonder is this going to be a life long problem? how much fiber should one have anyway? and by the way, waiting three days before you bring out the explosives might be what is causing the back up which is causing the pain,(only speaking form m y own experience) If I do not have a BM by the AM on day two, I am taking something for it. I hope all is well with you and that it is only slow moving pipes
and hopefully with a little help will be resolved soon. take care.
