Make sure you are getting in at least 90grams of protein drinks a day. That really cuts down my hunger quite a lot. As the other posters say....stop eating any simple carbs. It'll be hard but you can do it! Best of luck!

Topic: RE: where is everybody?
I check often too. My weight is up around 15 pounds and I am freaking out. I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow just to make sure everything is okay. Once I know that, I think I will be able to concentrate and get back on track. I would like to lose another 30 pounds or so. I just can't seem to get on track. Any suggestions or things that work for you would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and take care.

and where have you been? I swing by here every so often, rarely are there any new messages. So, how's it going for you? For me, weight is up a bit, but I know how to fix that. Still happy with my results. How about you?

2-10-1988 surgery date lowest weight 156: today I weigh 169 but at 5' 10' I look like 125. I feel great and would do it over again. I am engaged to be married in July to a man who needs WLS, the insurance said they would pay and now after he has been out $750.00 they say they will not cover it. But I love him for what is inside and not how he looks because I have been there. We will keep trying.

As the other poster said, protein is the key. If you stop eating carbs such as rice, potatoes, pasta, etc. and you start eating meats, cheese, power crunch bars, protein shakes, vegetables, and make sure to take vitamins and drink water, after a week or so, your appetite will go back to normal. You will lose the cravings and your hunger, and you will be able to get back on track....as long as you take your vitamins and drink water, you will be able to follow this plan until you get to goal. I am almost 3 years out and have not been able to lose weight for more than a year, but am losing weight now....after 3 weeks of doing this. Good luck to you.

I was just wondering how Kristin from Rockford MN is doing? Where is she at? I haven't heard from her for such a long time. If anyone has heard from her let me know. Thanks Kathy

Hi--this is just a suggestion, take it for what it's worth. Concentrate on dense protein, that's a chicken breast, baked or broiled. Fish, broiled. Beef--steak, broiled. Turkey, any way. Dense protein, stuff that needs to be chewed, and following the rules of the pouch--no drinking 30 min before or after eating, you won't be able to hold much. It's very hard to eat even one whole chicken breast without liquid to wa**** down (and out of your pouch). Try this for 3 weeks. Good luck. connie

Ok I had my surgery sept 30 2004. I have only lost 83 lbs and it has been a year since I have lost anything. I am able to eat the amount I was before and do. I look at what others eat and know something isnt right. I lost my insurance through divorce so I cant go to get tests run. but they did a scope about 8 months ago and he said my stomach wasnt stretched. I cant seem to get back on track and dont even know what that is. What should and amount should I be eating. Please help.

Topic: RE: Anyone having trouble staying on track?
Man, you guys are not the only one. I am doing so many bad things, it's ridiculous. I haven't been taking my vitamins, I drink diet coke and I drink with meals.... I've gained 10 lbs.... I am now having some kind of nerve issue because apparently I am vitamin deficient in the B family and it's causing me extreme bouts of weakness and shaking hands and legs. I have to get on a mega b complex toute suite. I'm told if I don't do it, it will result in heart issues. Just fabulous, right? I've always been active (since surgery) and allowed myself to eat more to compensate...... well now that the biking season is over and I haven't been running like I used to, it's no wonder that I've gained 10 lbs... my size 12 clothes are getting tight on me... right before Xmas I decided to renew my gym membership.... (my excuse for not running as much is that it's just too cold outside) and I've been going to the gym again and watching what I eat... still drinking while eating, though. I will be taking my vitamins again... and getting onto that mega b complex as well. But it's a scary thing how easy old habits just creep right up on you. It sucks. I want to lose 20 lbs more, realistically, that will put me around 169-172 area... I've never been below 179.... so I gotta lose the ten i regained and I'd like to lose ten mo re.... ideally I'd like to be 163.... fat erm... chance of that happening.

I never realized how fast those habits could creep up....before I knew it, I was staying in bed instead of getting up and going to the gym before work, then Christmas shopping kept me from going after work, then preparing for the holidays and all that and my routine fell flat! Oh man!!! I got up yesterday and went to the gym, my goodness that felt good, it was like all my stress just drained right out of me....working out really does make a difference. Now if I can get my exercise and eating in sync I will be doing good. One day at a time! Good luck and stay with it!
