Your not alone my weight has stall also. My Dr. told me I was going to hit many many plateaus and he was not kidding. Just when i thought I got off of plateau of 3 weeks and was on my way to losing weight again. I ended up on another one. My Dr. just told me to keep doing what I was doing to eat right and exercise but I do get discourage but I"m doing my best to keep doing what he said. It make me feel good when my family told me I can stop now but secretly I would love a normal bmi if not I'm okay with I have lost if it wasn't for this surgery I wouldn't have lost this much in 11 months. Take out that before picture and look how far you come. Put on those before pants or clothes and be amaze at how far you come. You sure be so happy 101 lbs lost My husband has to put me in check also he'll go and get my before pant and make me put them on so I could see how far I come. Hope this make feel better Sharon -109.5 plateau

Topic: New Photo In My Photo Gallery
Hi Everyone: It's Friday the 13th but since I have no phobias about such things, here is my regular post. It has now been 47 weeks since surgery and I've been holding at 190 pounds for 4 weeks. I'm not worried about the stall because I know that after losing 183 pounds, the old body is just in a resting period. I had a "formal" photo taken this week, put it in a nice frame and gave it to my wife as a gift last night. Boy, was she thrilled. She could not take her eyes off it. I just wanted to give it to her as a little token for being my #1 fan and supporter. Since I don't want to leave all of you out, I have added the photo to my Photo Gallery. Feel free to click on the link below to see it. http://photos.yahoo.com/jlewisjr_us Till next time Jesse 373/190/-183

Topic: 27 from goal and it wont go away! :(
Ok I have 27 lbs to go until im at my ultimate goal of 130. At 8 month checkup I had lost 101lbs......I have lost nothing since! It simply has stopped. I have picked my excercise up and I'm walking myself to death, ive upped my fluid intake to two gallons a day and Im drinking my protien, so what gives? I still dont eat any carbs, such as bread, pasta, rice, potatoes etc. I dont eat any sugar.....its grilled meats, salads and cheese....where am I going wrong? I am so discouraged. Is this the end? Have I lost all that I'm going to lose? I am very proud of the weight I have lost, I feel amazing, I look ten times better but I am so close to my goal that its unreal and I cant seem to get it off. Any suggestions??? I am going to be a year out next month on the 22nd and I was really praying I would be at goal when I went back for my one year checkup. Help me out guys, any suggestions are greatly appreciated....what do ya'll think? Hugs, carol 9-22-03, -101 258/157/ ?130?

Topic: First time Posting.....
I want to start off by apologizing for not using the September message board. I am pretty new at this posting stuff and I usually post on the main board or in the Connecticut board. I totally didn't know there was on for Sept. board. I had my surgery (open) on Sept 11, 2003 and to date I have lost 172lbs. Words cannot say how happy and thrilled I am with my new body. I don't think I remember when I was this skinny (can't get used to saying this word). I started at a 64 inch waist and weighed 425lbs. I am now a 40 inch waist and weigh 253lbs and I am only 13lbs to my goal weight. I cannot believe that next month will be a year. Time sure does fly. I will need plastic surgery for the skin. I have been working out but it has not tightened up. My stomach is hanging so low, its not even funny. Time will tell how and when this will happen, but I will keep you posted. Well, I hope that all the Sept. Surgery Post ops and Pre ops do not hold my lateness into this board against me. Hope to fit in. Luis

Topic: Don't Let The Dog Days Get You!!
Hi Everyone: It's the end of another week so it's time for my regular Friday installment. I'm completing my 46th week since surgery and things are going along very well. I'm holding at 190 pounds and feeling great. I got the latest issue of Obesity Help Magazine and I found myself on Page 47 in the Before & After section. It feels wonderful to be acknowledged in the magazine and I'm looking forward to begger and better things in the future. I'm thankful that I can do what I can to encourage everyone to continue to strive to reach their WLS goals. Don't let obstacles deter you. Look at them as challenges that you can overcome. As we enter the "dog days" of summer we must remind ourselves to maintain our WLS routines and not give in to the lazy days of summer. As opposed to last year when I was 373 pounds, I find it easier now to resist just laying around doing nothing but eating and drinking. In fact, I feel bad if I don't get to the gym or I'm not moving around a lot. I have boundless energy and it has really helped me stay focused. Everyone have a great weekend and a fabulous week ahead. Remember, Protein, Water Exercise and Vitamins. Till next time, Jesse 373/190/-183

Topic: My Surgeon Says I'm A Star!!!
Hi Everybody: If it's Friday, It's Jesse's Post!!! Went for my follow-up with my surgeon Dr. Garrison yeaterday morning and everything is PERFECT. My latest labs are all within the normal ranges, I'm now weighing 190 pounds which is a 183 pound weight loss in 45 weeks and his office staff spent their time fawning all over me, telling how great I look. We spent most of the follow-up visit talking about my success and at the end Dr. Garrison thanked me for being a positive influence on his other patients and he said "You're my star." I'm just thankful for Dr. Garrison and greatful that I was given the opportunity to change my life for the better through WLS. I know that some may encounter complications and difficulties as you travel on this road to better health but in the end, keep striving and you too will reap the rewards that WLS will provide for you. Till next time, Jesse 373/190/-183
