Oh Sheri, I soooo hear you. I have been soooooo darn guilty of grazzing. I have hit a brick wall. I keep trying to do other things to keep myself busy so that I stop the grazing...but it has not worked so far. Keep your chin up...look how far you have come and know that this too will soon pass (the grazing I mean. lol) Carolyn Sue

Topic: New Goals For A New Year!!!
Hi Everyone: It's time again for my regular Friday post. I am 3 weeks from my one year anniversary and as it gets closer I'm beginning to think about my goals for year two. I am holding at 190 pounds which is a 183 pound loss. I have little if any hanging skin so I guess I will not need to have any plastic surgery done. I guess I was either lucky or my skin has responded well to the weight loss (5 days a week in the gym lifting weights didn't hurt either). My body fat is down to 16% (God only knows what is was before surgery) and I'm feeling great!!! One of my goals going into year two is to reduse my body fat a few points more, maybe to the bottom of the healthy range for men my age which is 12%. Another goal is to maintain my current weight (=/-10 pounds) and add a little more muscle. A third goal is to always remember the work I put in this first year and use it as motivation to work harder in year two. Why work hard and then slack off? Believe me, there's no slacking off in me. There you have it. A few basic goals for year two that will keep me going. I'm sure I'll come up with some more but this will do for now. Everyone just keep working your program and don't give up or give in. Till next time, Jesse 373/190/-183

I need some real help here. I have been eating waaay too much and have regained 5lbs in a matter of a week. So now i have to lose 21 lbs. again rather than the 16 I had left to go. I am still running often and biking insane amount of miles but that is just holding off a real weight gain if I dont curb my eating habits. Is there anything anyone can suggest doing to stop myself from grazing?? It'll be a year since surgery on sept. 12th and I wanted to be at goal, darn it!! And it sucks because in so many ways I'm sooo close. I dunno. I feel like I'm in a downward spiral here. HELP!!

Hey Jennifer Welcome, I am pretty new myself here. I found out about this board about a month ago. I was posting on the main board and never new this one was here. Congrats on your fabulous weight loss. Can you believe it will be a year really soon. I for sure can't. Where did the time fly to. I will be a year on Sept. 11 and to date I have lost 172lbs. Who would have thought. Not me. I am only 13lbs to my goal weight. Talk about excitement. Don't be a stranger to this board. Keep us posted and ask away, we are here to help. God Bless and keep on track. Luis

I had the Lap Band last year and have lost 110 pounds. I lost 50 in the first 4 months before my first fill in December. I'm not sure what to tell you but your problem seems uncommon. I think you need to find a different doctor for second and third opinions on what is going on. I hope this helps, even a little. Feel free to email with questions. Jen

Hi everyone.. I had lap band surgery Sept. 16 of last year.. I have lost 110 pounds... Started at 370 and am now at 260... I didn't know this board was here but it is cool to see how others are handling their first year! I'll try to come back often and I'm hoping to have pictures out here soon.

Hey Jesse Great job. 16% body fat, AMAZING. Keep up the good work. With this sagging Panni, my body fat goal will be far from reach. Will try for my goal weight first. Luis

Topic: I Love My Body Fat %
Hi Everyone: I know it's not Friday but I just wanted to share something with you. As you may remember from my post on Friday I wanted to find out my Body Fat %. Today I bought a Body Fat scale and just used it for the first time. I actually used it twice just to make sure I programmed it correctly. According to Body Fat Ranges established by the NIH/WHO guidelines, a man my age (that would be 47) should have a body fat % between 12-22% to be considered in the healthy range. Well after weighing myself using my Body Fat Scale my body fat percentage is 16%. I guess that makes me healthy (LOL). My BMI may say that I'm still overweight at 26.9 but my body fat reading says I'm healthy. I'm not going to create a debate over which indicator is better but for the benefit of my phyche, I will go with the body fat percentage. Now I have another goal to go for. Getting my body fat percentage as close to 12% as possible. Till next time, Jesse 373/190/-183
