I finally got a surgery date!!! I'm having BPD/DS at Kettering Ohio Medical Center, my doctor is John Maguire. I'm a little nervous about the surgery but can't wait to start my new life. I am fortunate to have great co-workers who provide a total support system for me (one has already had the surgery). Thank God for family and friends!!! Anyone else having surgery on that day? Maybe we can cheer each other on. Yip-p-p-e-e!!!

I am so looking forward to this. I was geared up to get this done this summer but the insurance took a while and of course the nothing good ever happens in a hurry. The waiting is difficult. I have been working on this since February. Once I make up my mind to go for something it is difficult to be patient. Well wish me luck. I plan on dropping 180 lbs so it will be a long road. Good luck to everyone else here. I will stop by from time to time and post on my experiences. Joe

My date is 9/11/03 and I've been denied by my insurance, Aetna....but we're in the process of dealing with my husband's insurance which is Community Blue.....my doctor's office said that they never have any problems with the "Blues"...well, good luck to all and I'll enjoy being a "loser" for the first time in my life.....I'm carrying 125 extra pounds around 24/7 and I'm more than ready to put that extra person down and just be myself......Take care everyone and God bless you on this wonderful journey!!!!
