Hey Everyone, I am new to the anniversary board. i had my surgery 09-22-03. i started at 234 lost down to 123. am now back up to 140. I have been miserable and beat myself up about this daily, ok multiple time a day. Do you ever just not fill up? some times i eat eat eat without filling., then i tak a bite or two and i am full. I have contacted my surgeon and pcp and nobody seems worried but me. I tried to get back down to true basics but i feel like i am starving. any suggestions? Thanks so much.

Topic: RE: help
Hi, I too understand what you are going through. I need to shape up myself or I will lose this wonderful blessing. Tonight I had a pork chop and half a cup of mashed pot. for supper and then a few hours later gnawed off the edge of another chop. Thats my bad habit. I need to have regular meals and snacks and stick to them. I can also eat sugar and that is bad so since I am single I got rid of anything that could possible tempt me in my house. And I don't keep junk around usually but I had some things from the holidays that I could have got compulsive with. This is how nuts I can be with food. Had a dry cake mix I was afraid I may mix up and eat raw. I know it would have made me sick but I would have tried at some point I am sure. And a can of french fried onions i would have dived into in one of my compulsive fits. It is so scary and I have had all kinds of counceling, eating disorder groups, overeaters anonymous and still I cannot seem to completely get a grip on myself. Well I am babbling. I was once 330 at 5ft 2inches. At surgery 285 and now am 167. I want to lose about 30 more pounds and I will be 2 years out in Sept. So I know I need to take advantage of the window because it is closing. I am rooting for you. I know we can beat this it just takes perseverance. Hanging in there--- Lucy O'Grady

Topic: Hi Everyone: Happy Fri...
Hi Everyone: Happy Friday!!! Been a little busy today so my post is better late than never (LOL). I go to see my surgeon next week and I'm looking forward to it. It will be 15 months out for me next Saturday and I couldn't be happier. WLS has been the best thing that has happened for me in years. I feel great, have lots of energy and just enjoying my new, improved life. I've been reading a lot of posts lately with people becomming discouraged when they think they're not losing fast enough. I have one word of advice. PATIENCE!!! Remember that this is indeed a journey. It is not a sprint, a 30 second TV commercial promising that all the weight will come off in 30 days, a quick fix. Your body will dictate the rate that you will oose the weight along with your effort in getting in your protein, water, vitamins and exercise. Remain patient and you will obtain the results you are seeking. Till next time, Jesse 373/190/-183

Topic: Tomorrow's My Birthday!!!
Hi Everyone: Happy Friday to all!!! When the clock strikes midnight tonight and February 4 turns into February 5 it will be my 48th birthday. I'm just 2 years away from getting my AARP Card (LOL)!!! I'm looking forward to the beginning of my 49th year on earth with great anticipation and joy. I'm the lean, mean machine that I was in my youth with the wisdom that comes with middle age. I know that my decision to have WLS will enable me to live longer and healthier. It's been a good week for me. We had our Regional Meetings and was able to see many of our salespeople that I interact with by phone but only see once in a while. They were all amazed on how I looked and I had to beat off all the lunch and dinner invites. I had to remind them that I only eat a little at a time (LOL). I also purchased one of those exercise bands for when I can't get to the gym and I was surprized by how much of a workout you can get with it. For those who are not the "gym" types, I would recommend getting an exercise band. Till next time, Jesse 373/190/-183

Topic: House Bill 1936 and Senate Bill 1032
This is of great importance to everyone in Virginia. Please contact your General Assembly representatives and let them know that they must vote 'Yes' on both of these bills. These bills will help others wanting to have the gastric bypass by making insurance companies cover the surgery. So, PLEASE, PLEASE, contact your representatives (or even all of the representatives) and tell them your story (pictures would help a lot). The more we make them understand how important these bills are the better. If these bills do not pass the subcommittees, then they will die. Don't let that happen! We need your support! Thanks!

Topic: Smaller Fingers, Smaller Feet and A Great Week
Hi Everyone: Well it has been a great week for me. First, I won 2 performance awards at work which netted me almost a grand. The money went directly into my slush fund (the fund my wife has no knowledge of so help me keep it a secret (LOL)). The money came in handy because Lord & Taylor was having a sale and now that I can shop like "regular" people I found 2 Polo buttondown shirts at 65% off. Second, I had to get my wedding ring resized since it was falling off my finger. I have gone from a size 12 to 10 1/2. Third, I finally bought some dress shoes since my old ones were flopping on my feet. So I went to the store and to my amazement my size 12 wide foot is now a size 11 medium foot. Isn't WLS wonderful or what? Till next time, Jesse 373/190/-183

Topic: Let It Snow!!!
Hi Everyone: Happy Friday to all!!! We are getting ready here in New Jersey for the first "big" snow of the season so I guess I will be getting in plenty of exercise shoveling in the comming days. I guess for the first time since my surgery I'm really looking forward to shoveling because thanks to WLS, I'm in the best shape since high school so I'm ready!!! I'm completely over my cold and feeling great. I'm back in the gym now and the guys in the gym are making sure that I don't push myself too fast comming back from being sick. I'm building myself back up to the "power workout". My 48th birthday is comming up two weeks from Saturday and I'm so excited because I'm in great health and thankful for all the benefits of WLS. It's an exciting time for me and living every moment to it's fullest means so much. Till next time, Jesse 373/190/-183
