Jennifer, What I have found that has helped is to eat Lean Cuisine meals for a few weeks to help train yourself the portions you should eat. Anytime you feel like you have done what you can, take a deep breath, forgive yourself and start over. Don't drink 30 mins before or after your meals. I guess what I am trying to tell you is the tool is still there. Just go back to the basics. Good luck!

Topic: Uneventful Follow-Up Visit!!
Hi Everyone: HAPPY FRIDAY!!! Had my semi-annual follow up visit with my surgeon yesterday and of course everything was A-OK. All my labs are at normal levels and we spent most of the time takling about other things. The only complaint I had was that I'm having trouble shaking a cold and it was keeping me from the gym. He told me just to take a couple of days to rest and he will see me in September. Feeling better today but I will take his advice and get back to the gym on Monday. Till next time, Jesse 373/190/-183

I'm jealous. I started out at 267 and I now weigh 205. I wish I could get down to 160. If I weighed 140 I'd look like a zombie. Jealous

Topic: A Little Snow-So What!!!
Hi Everyone: HAPPY FRIDAY!!! We had another winter blast last night (about 5 inches) so I spent time before going to work digging out again. I was just thinking that before surgery I would have dreaded ths snow because digging out would have led to much pain and exaustion. Now I can shovel snow with no pain, no exaustion and feel great after doing it. Now I just look at it as getting in my exercise for the day. You must be thinking to yourself by now that I'm crazy but this surgery has really meant getting healthier and being able to go and go without pain and exaustion. I no longer look at basic tasks as drudgery. I look at them as opportunities to do what a "normal" person does. Till next time, Jesse 373/190/-183

Topic: Handling Cravings
Hi Everyone: Sorry to be posting so late today but I have been in a situation that I had to resolve so although I'm posting late , Happy Friday to all!!! I'm still doing well and am maintaining my regular trips to the gym, getting in my protein, water and vitamins. I'm now 15 months out and I'm finding myself getting the urge to have certain foods so right now I'm in the sandwich wrap phase. I find that the wrap is easier to get down because I have the urge for a sandwich without using bread that really makes me gag. I have half the wrap for lunch and the other half for dinner. I know that this phase will pass and another one will develop. I just make sure that whatever I eat is packed with protein. I guess what I'm saying is that it's OK to have something you might be craving as long as it is in "moderation" and healthy to boot. Depriving yourself may be more dangerous since once you give in to the craving you might overindulge. Just having a "taste" of something is all you need to satisfy your craving so you can get on with life and not feel miserable. I know that some may not agree with this thought but I discussed this with prople in my support groups and most of us have come to this conclusion. Till next time, Jesse 373/190/-183

Dianna, I can't speak for Jennifer, but I agree with you. I am 5'6" tall so 140 lbs is still pretty good. I wear a size 6 and I am very thankful for my weightloss. I am just nervous about gaining weight. If I stay at 140, I will be happy, I just don't want to keep creeping up the scale after all my hard work.

Hi Jennifer. I had my surgery of 11/3/03 and went from 268 to 128. Now I am back up to 140. I also am very upset and worried that I will fail at this. I am amazed at how much I am able to eat. I have no suggestions, but I wanted you to know you are not alone!
