Topic: how is everyone doing!?!?
Hi All -- Just wanted to check up on everyone and see how they are doing! So far so good for me --- had my staples out and have lost 28 lbs in two weeks. 1/2 is water but better than nothing..... Please keep me posted on everone and I hope and pray that everyone is having a speedy recovery!!

I was a Type II diabetic, and now I take NOTHING for diabetes because I no longer have diabetes!! It's true, and it can happen for you too! I still take my readings to stay on track, but now I feel like I'm a whole new person!
Congratulations on your surgery and I can't wait to hear of your progress.

There day is here!! Surgery is at 10:30a.m. MDT. I should still be sleeping but my head is hurting too bad from not eating. I still have a hard time believing I won't still be diabetic after this. And that I won't be hungry!!! That'll be a first!

Hi Kim,
Laura here from Philadelphia. I also had open RNY on September 16 and it was rough! Once I got home, its just been getting better and better every day. I found I am in a bit of a weepy spell right now but am told by others that the feelings will pass. I am eating quite well as long as the food is soft. My postop is on Wednesday and these horrible staples (22 of them) will finally come out. best wishes to you

Believe me when I say time will start racing ahead. My surgery is in seven hours and I am still not packed. Keep coming to this website. The support and encouragement is amazing.

Cindy, I am also scheduled for surgery in the morning. You are right, this website is a good thing. It has been a big support system for me through this process. I am a little nervous but I will do just fine as will you. Take care and I wish the both of us a speedy recovery. May God bless you.
