Topic: RE: Question for the Losing Side
Dear Lori, I had my surgery on the 16th. When I went in for my two week postop I was down 14 lbs. I was discouraged because I really wanted to be down over 20 lbs. My doc said I was right on track. He said I should continue to lose between 5-7 lbs a week, between 20-25 lbs a month. That puts me at my 100 mark in 4-5 months, which will be fantastic. I weighed myself one week after surgery and was down 19 lbs, then a few days later by weight was back up another 9 lbs. That put me in the dumps until someone talked to me abou****er weight. So don't be discouraged. The goal is to lose weight and that is exactly what you are doing. Best wishes, Laura

Topic: She Made it!!
Well..she made it through the hard part..(the surgery) and it is doing good...she has been walking around more and drinking some. She will either get to come home Sunday or Monday. After the surgery she was in alot of pain but she said it has started to ease. But if anything else changes then i will let you know. Keep her in your prayers.

Topic: RE: help
My dr/nutrionist do not psu the protien shakes - they know how nasty they are. I guess some brands are better than others but whose up running around buying 20 kinds! I am to drink 24 oz of skim or 1% milk a day. Today was my first and I started with 8oz of diet hot chocolate. There is a protien drink out that already mixed call EDGE. I heard it is really good. I bought a 4 pack to have on hand if I really needed it or was out of milk - it can go in the cupboard. Haven't tried it though. I wouldn't worry too much though as you will be starting on soft foods soon and will be able to get more protein then. Hope this helps Rena

I have been reading some profiles, and I dont understand how some people can drink 8oz protein shakes. I can barely manage 4 ounces, and I have to force myself to do that. I am so oworried that I wont be getting enough protein. please help if you can.
