Topic: RE: Am I eating too much?
I am post-op, as well. My surgery was 9/16 and I can eat 6oz. of yogurt and an egg, without any trouble. I have never thrown up. My Doc told me that some people's pouch doesn't hold the food, it goes straight through. This is why, he says, that I am hungry all the time. Maybe that is what is happening to the yogurt. But, I bet that you could not eat 6 oz. of beff or chicken. Yogurt is very light and passes right through. I am on whole food and I am still hungry. But, sometimes, I don't eat all of my alloted food, you know?
I am sure that you are fine.

Topic: 3 weeks post op
It has been three weeks since I had my Lap Banding . On my scale I have lost 25 lbs. I will see when I go for my second post op visit on Monday.
I had a very UNeventful experience from the start. Everything has been great. I am used to eating mush, but I don't care because the pounds are coming off. I am feeling better, walking everyday and starting to feel more optimistic about my success.
only had one unpleasant experience with food. I was dying for a hot dog...WHY???I dont know but pureed it ,,hmmm delicious and only ate half of it. For three hours I felt like I had a balloon inside which was going to burst.. That was a great lesson that I hope I won't repeat.
Other than that, things have been very smooth.
I am planning to attend my first post op meeting on Tuesday, I think....
Has anyone gone to them? Do you find them helpful?? I have really become so much more aware of the void food filled that it doesn't now!!
Continued good luck to everyone.

Congratulations on making it to the other side! Now, you must remember to take it easy. Your body has just been through something traumatic and NEEDS time to heal. Please don't overdo. The good news is that the cleaning WILL wait for you!
God Bless and welcome to the other side!!
Topic: RE: Home & down 10 lbs
I share your excitement! How many times have we lost ten pounds? It's just that this time, we know it is gone for good!!! I felt the same way last week when I hit that mark (RNY 9/27). I'm now out 13 days and down 15 pounds. (This is so very exciting!!! hehe)
Best wishes and keep up the good work!!

I am not sure if you are or not --- I had the DS and so I have a 4 oz stomach, but I to have been worried and I have been reminded of this fact from others, remember that in the begining your stomach was swolen -- it had just been injured --- as the swelling goes down you can eat more -- how much more is up to you and your doctor --- best of luck to you!

Well, I was worried that I wasn't losing as fast as some. It isn't abnormal for you to come home a little higher because you gain some from the anesthia and the IV. So, please don't fret over that. I went to my PCP on Monday and I'm down 13 pounds. At first, I was disappointed, especially when a surgery twin went to the doctor and lost 32. But, just because your beginning numbers are small don't mean they will always be. Just make sure you pump your water, protein and your activity. It will come off. We didn't put it on in a day and it's not coming off in a day. Also, just remember that whatever your loss is - that is the most that you have lost in just two weeks I'm sure than on any other bogus diet you have tried in the past. Just count your blessings and it will come off.
Topic: RE: What can I eat or can I eat??
When i switched to full liquids the nurse told me that I could have cream of wheat as long as I made it kind of soupy. you won't be able to eat much of it but it will be something different for you!
good luck!

I am also 2 weeks out and i am feeling really good. I also gained the day of surgery 15# I could have just cried! Here I was to lose and gaining not a good thing! I am now 18# down plus I lost the extra 15# so that is good. how are you doing getting your protein in? I was at my dr appt yesterday and picked up some pro-stat, it has 15g of protein in 2 tbls. That is so much better than those nasty shakes! Some are not to bad but others I can barely choke down! I have been walking a couple of blocks 2x day, I took 4 weeks off work so I am enjoying walking and just chilling out! Good Luck with your journey!
God Bless
