Second Wave of Hair Loss?!?

Hello my fellow september posties! I wondered if anyone was experiencing a second wave of hair loss? My hair started falling out right "on schedule" at about 4 months post op and stopped noticeably at 8 months post op or so... just like many of you, as I remember us sharing stories about it. Well just now, almost at a year post op, I seem to be starting to loose hair again. For the past week or so I've noticed it coming out a lot more... a lot more hair in the bath water, just like before. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm trying to think back to what has changed that might be causing this..... ugh!

Hi Elizabeth, I am also at one year, 9-16-03. Just like you it started at 4-5 months, stopped for 5-6 months and were at it again !!! I think it is pretty normal. My cousin is 7 months ahead of us and she says its expected, but doesnt hit us as bad as the first time around. I take 1000mg. of Biotin a day and I use the Nioxin Protectives shampoo, which seems to help with the fullness and texture. I just started to double up on the Biotin and the hair loss is not as drastic ..... I jumped on the scales yesterday morning for the 1 year check up and am happy to announce 108 lbs have disapeared in the last 365 days, I am healthy, happy and thin ! I went from a size 22-24 to a 6-8, hair loss ??? who cares !!! thats what they make wigs for !!! Be Happy ! Robin
