I CAME AND HAVE SEEN SOME REALLY GREAT WEIGHTLOSST STORIES HERE AND I AM PROUD OF YOU ALL. I HAVE A PROBLEM I HAD A LAP BAND DONE 9/29/003 AND MY WIEGHT AT THE TIME WAS 217LBS. AT PRESENT MY WEIGHT IS 210. I DO NOT HAVE A CLUE ON WHAT TO DO. IHOPE SOMEONE CAN PLEASE HELP ME. I DID HAVE A FILL OF MY BAND AND HAVE A LOT OF RESTRICTION. I WAS THINKING ABOUT HAVE ANOTHER WLS BUT I AM NOT THAT BRAVE TO TRY A 2ND TIME. BUT IF I KEEP UP AT THIS WEIGHT I JUST MIGHT TRY IT. IF ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEAS PLEASE HELP ME.
THANK YOU ALL
Lisa,
I don't know what to tell you because I am not well versed with the banding. I guess I would talk to your surgeon or nutrionist and see what they advise. I wish I had a better answer for you...but I am clueless when it comes to the banding.
Good luck. My thoughts and prayers will be with you.

Hi Lisa,
Lisa-from what I have read about lapband surgery-it takes an average of four to six fills to reach the point where your eating is restricted enough to lose weight-most lap-banders should lose 1-2 lbs. a week once their lapband is at the right size for them. It sounds like you need more fills. Contact your surgeon and schedule another fill is my advice-and expect that it might be several more fills before you are losing weight! It shouldn't be necessary for you to have more surgery or a different type of surgery.

HELLO AND THANK YOU FOR TRYING TO SAVE ME. YOU MAY BE RIGHT . THE PROBLEM IS THAT THE DOCTOR WHO PREFORMED MY LAP BAND USE TO TAKE MY INSURANCE BUT NOW ONLY WANTS CASH FOR THE FILL HE WANTS $300.00 SO IHAVE NOT GONE BACK THEY PUT ME ON A WAITING LIST AND SAID THEY WOULD CALL ME. THAT WAS LAST YEAR . i DID FINE A PLACE THAT GAVE ME A FILL FOR 180.0O AND I HAD A FILL TWO MONTHS AGO. I JUST HAVE TO SAVE UP TO GO BACK. BUT THANK YOU FOR TRYING TO HELP. PLEASE IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER IDEAS PLEASE REPLY BACK. THINGS LIKE WHAT TO EAT? JUST ANYTHING
THANK YOU
I had the Lap Band last year and have lost 110 pounds. I lost 50 in the first 4 months before my first fill in December. I'm not sure what to tell you but your problem seems uncommon. I think you need to find a different doctor for second and third opinions on what is going on.
I hope this helps, even a little. Feel free to email with questions.
