Ok I have not posted in a while. But I started at 427 yes 427lb and 6ft tall. I am now down to 289 thats about 138lbs. I am only losing 5-10 lbs a month now is that normal? I still dont eat sugar. I have been eating a little bit more lately but not much. I exercise 5 days a week 45 min of cardio and 45 min of weights. What should I do now to make the weight loss pick back up again. My next goal is to loose another 100 lbs. I am ready to stop eating all together and just drink a protein shake. What should do help!!!!!

just so you know I started at 360 and by month 8 am down 112....believe it or not I think you probably need to eat & drink more....I have to keep my calories atleats 1200 per day or I dont lose anything...and drinking 100 ounces of water a day helped alot... I know it sounds weird but try eatting more... Fitday.com is great for checking what your calories are

It sounds like you are doing so much so maybe you aren't eating enough. My average is 8-10lbs. a month but things are slowing for me, too. I'm worried I won't make the 10 lbs. for this month by June 12th. It's scary that I might not be able to continue to lose 10lbs. a month. I still want to lose 30 more and on top of that.... I'm worried that my excess skin will hamper that 30 lbs. desire.... It's too, too, scary. -Sheri

I understand where you are coming from. But, I do agree, You may not be getting enough calories in. I hit a MAJOR plateau over a month ago and the scale just would not move. I spoke with my dietician because I was thinking that I should start drinking protien shakes and skipping a meal. She NIXED that idea. My Doctors office would rather you eat your meals instead of drinking them. After keeping a food journal for 2 weeks and reviewing it with her, we found that I was not eating enough calories for the amount of activity I was doing daily. After a couple of revisions and concentrating on protien and more water I FINALLY broke the plateau. The way it was explained to me was that your body goes into a "protection" mode and saves fat and calories if it thinks it is being starved. It may be something to look into. Good luck and keep us posted. Carolyn

My weight loss has also slowed down too. I have lost 162 pounds in 10 months but month 11 has shown no weight loss. The lady at the gym also told me to increase my calories I rarely consume more than 800-900 a day and she also told me to add more cardio and fat burning to my exercise routine. She said my body is used to the routine I have been using and I need to change it up a little to get past the plateau hump I only have 13 more pounds to my goal weight. Good luck to you on getting on the other side of the plateau hill and on the losing side again. Ramona
