Hi, eveyone , I had my surgery on 9-10-03 and I am doing fine. I have lost 76LBS . I think that is pretty slow but last time I went to dr he stated I was where I should be. I do find that sometimes I think I eat to much. I can hold a cup of soup or salad. If it is starches such as rice, potatoes, pasta only a couple of bites. I still have a hard time with protein, but I think everyone does. I am curious as to how much food most of you can handle at one time. Eveyone keep up the good work. Mary

Hi Mary!! Congratulations! I am down 76 lbs and happy. I was worried as well about my weight loss being too slow, but with my physcian's help I do not worry about that as much. I too like you feel sometimes that I am eating too much. I have days that I can eat much better than others and some days I can not eat much at all. But everything is getting better every day.

I can also eat sugar. UGH basically I can eat anything just smaller protions. I am starting to get worried about my sugar intake because my old cravings are coming back

Hi folks, I don't know where I've been all these months. I never even noticed this forum for September '03 posties. My surgery was Sept. 18th, starting weight 297, today I'm 231, that's 66 lbs lost. Not such a fast loser, but hey, we forget what it was really like before the surgery. Even losing 10 lbs was a tremendous effort, and keeping it off was impossible. Let us all remember the difficulty of losing weight the so-called "normal" way, and no more lamenting about how slow we are losing now. I mean, c'mon, I never lost 66 lbs before this surgery in my life, no matter how hard I tried. As was stated elsewhere in this forum, we will lose in our own good time. Good luck to all!!!! connie in B'ham

Mary, I had the surgery on 9-19-2003, and find that I too can eat more and worry all the time that I overeat. I think some of it is us being aware of what we put in our mouths, and the other is just our old self withthe habit of beating ourselves up still lurking about. I can eat easilty 3/4 to 1 cup of food. It sounds like it is a normal amount at this stage of the game. Let me know what you hear. Cathy [email protected]
