Hi Louann, I wish I could help you cuz then I could help myself, lol ,I have had terrible mood swings also, I keep telling myself (and everyone around me) that it must be a hormonal adjustment thing. I intended to discuss it with my surgeon and forgot to ask about it, any suggestions or info would be greatly appreciated by myself and my household!

I know that fat cells store hormones so that is probably why, i was that way too at first but it seems to be getting a little better 9/25/03 -87lbs!!

Okay guy's I've had this same problem. Except I called my Dr. and told him I thought I was going crazy. I was so irritable and down right mean. Well he laughed and said no your not going crazy. He said I had lost my best friend and I said what! He said wheather I new it or not food was my best friend and it is gone for the most part. I said well I guess that would make some since. I'm doing better now. But sometimes I have a little angery managment problem. if you want to call it that. I call it me eat S**T and die day.LOL. Hugs to all. I start physical training with my trainer to day haven't meet him yet. I sure hope he's cute. Oh well talk later Debbie Moya Dr. Baker 9/22/03 354/230/147

Ohmygod! I do so know what you're talking about! I was having horrid mood swings, and even threw a temper tantrum one night and threw several things against the wall in my bedroom. (cordless phone, remote control, makeup bag... etc.) I'm a single mom with two teens and my kids thought I'd gone off my rocker. But they've been a little nicer to me since then too. I've done a few different things to help. 1. I went back on Prozac. I've done this off and on throughout the years, mostly while I was married. 2. Exercise. I joined a gym and listen to books on tape while I'm on the elliptical trainer to make the time go faster. I haven't been in awhile because of family issues, and am feeling less balanced because of it. 3. Laugh. I mean really laugh. Find those people or those events that make you laugh, and go at it. Read a book, listen to a tape, watch a movie or call that friend that always makes you laugh. If you can, go to a comedy show. 4. Drink more water. It doesn't really help the mood swings, but it does help me physically. And it helps the weight loss which I suppose, does help my mood swings. 5. Sex. Great sex can do things for my mood that nothing else can. It helps if you have a partner though. The solo stuff isn't as much fun. I heard a comment at my support group that "Skinny moms are not as nice as fat moms." Well, my kids tend to agree with that, but they'll get over it. Good luck, and I hope you find your way. Let us know if you come up with something that works for you. PLEASE!!!! Lynn
