slow loser

There seem to be an awful lot of us "slow losers." I am down 62 pounds (from 320 pounds pre-op) since surgery on 9/28/03. But the rate of loss has been very uneven! About 30 of those 62 pounds came off in the first month, then it was kind of steady, but recently - I've only lost a few pounds in the past month. Why? After an honest look at my habits, I'm pretty sure that the slowdown has come from drinking with meals, which really does let you eat a lot more, and eating too many carbs and not enough protein. These two things seem to be very common stumbling blocks. Anyway, I'm going to cut out the liquids with meals, and back off on the starches and see what happens. Most importantly, I'm not going to beat myself up about "doing it wrong" - that kind of thinking is a sure road to defeat. I'm just going to stay honest with myself, make changes where I can, and keep on truckin. And God bless all of us on this exciting journey!
